RRB JE CE Cut-Off: Previous Cut-Off Reference and Target Marks

The RRB JE CE cut-off is the minimum score that gets a civil candidate through each stage. For this cycle (CEN 04/2026), CBT 1 is scheduled for 27 and 28 October 2026, so no cut-off exists yet. This page shows how cut-offs work, the last official CBT 1 figures that could be verified, and how to set a target.

Cut-offs change every cycle, so treat them as a benchmark only. Use the official RRB portal for results and cut-off notices when they are released.

How cut-offs work

  • Minimum qualifying percentage: a fixed floor for each category. Reported figures are 40 percent for UR and EWS, 30 percent for OBC-NCL and SC, and 25 percent for ST (third-party summaries; confirm in the notification).

  • Shortlisting cut-off: the real bar for CBT 2, set RRB-wise and category-wise because only about 15 times the vacancies are called.

  • Final cut-off: the last merit mark selected after CBT 2, document verification and medical, for each RRB and category.

Previous CBT 1 cut-off reference

For the earlier JE cycle (CEN 03/2024), RRB Chandigarh published normalised CBT 1 cut-off marks out of 100. Across the post categories listed in that table, the UR cut-offs ran from roughly 60 to 81, with SC and OBC-NCL values generally lower. The table is indexed by post category number and does not label civil separately, so these figures show the range of competition, not a civil-only cut-off.

Category

Approximate range in the CEN 03/2024 CBT 1 table (out of 100)

UR

About 60 to 81

OBC-NCL

About 47 to 76

SC

About 54 to 72

ST

About 38 to 74

These ranges are tentative and based on one RRB's published table. Other RRBs and later cycles differ.

What affects the cut-off

  • Difficulty of the paper: a tougher shift lowers raw scores, and normalisation adjusts for it.

  • Vacancies in your RRB: fewer civil posts mean a higher bar.

  • Number of applicants: a larger pool pushes shortlisting marks up.

  • Category: each category has its own cut-off.

How to set your target

  • Aim above the benchmark: for CBT 1, targeting a clear margin above the last UR range is safer than a bare pass.

  • Protect your technical score: in CBT 2, a strong civil paper lifts your merit more than the general sections.

  • Track mocks: note accuracy, attempts and sectional scores across tests, not just one total.
