RSMSSB Lab Assistant Cut Off 2026: Science and Geography

The RSMSSB Lab Assistant cut off is the lowest score at which candidates of a category were called for document verification. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) released the 2026 cut-offs with the result on 14 August 2026, separately for the Science exam (out of 400 marks) and the Geography exam (out of 300 marks), and separately for Non-TSP and TSP (scheduled area) posts.

These are shortlisting cut-offs. The board called roughly twice as many candidates as there are vacancies, so the final selection cut-off after verification can be higher.

How to Read These Cut-Offs

  • Geography needed a higher share of marks: The general Non-TSP cut-off was about 66% of the maximum marks in Science, while Geography needed about 79%. The two exams are scored out of different totals, so compare percentages, not raw marks.

  • Cut-offs sit far above the minimum: The qualifying mark was 40% (35% for SC and ST), but every Non-TSP cut-off was well above 50%.

  • TSP cut-offs are lower: Scheduled area posts draw from a smaller pool, so their cut-offs were about 10 to 60 marks lower, depending on the category.

What Affects the Cut-Off

Cut-offs change every year with paper difficulty, the number of vacancies in each category and the number of candidates who appear. Negative marking also pulls scores down when a paper is tough. Treat the 2026 figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

How to Set Your Target Score

For the next cycle, a safe target is 15 to 20 marks above the last general cut-off for your category: roughly 280 out of 400 in Science and 250 out of 300 in Geography for Non-TSP general candidates. In Science, split the target across both papers, because Paper I carries the same 200 marks as Paper II.
