SBI SO Cut Off 2026: What SBI Publishes and How to Set Your Target

The SBI SO cut off is not a single number. State Bank of India selects Specialist Cadre Officers through separate advertisements, and each one has its own stages, vacancies and qualifying marks. For the posts with an online written test, the bank decides cut-offs after the test. For interview-only posts, there is no written cut-off at all.

This page explains what SBI has actually published in the 2026-27 cycle, what it has not, and how to set a safe target. We have not listed any cut-off marks, because SBI has not published them, and we do not present estimates as official figures.

Ties at the cut-off are broken in favour of the older candidate.

Previous cut-off

For the Law advertisement (CRPD/SCO/2026-27/02), SBI published two provisional shortlists dated 12 October 2026, one for Assistant Manager (Law) and one for Deputy Manager (Law). Both contain only the candidates called for interview, with no marks. Some websites show expected cut-offs for these posts. These are estimates, not SBI figures, so do not plan around them.

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass. Where SBI publishes marks for a later stage, check them in the result notice on the official careers page.

What affects the cut-off

  • Difficulty of Professional Knowledge: A harder paper lowers the marks needed to be shortlisted.

  • Vacancies and category split: The Law advertisement had 49 vacancies, and shortlisting is done category-wise, so a category with fewer seats can see a higher cut-off.

  • Number of eligible applicants: More applicants for the same seats usually raise the bar.

  • Normalisation: Final merit uses normalised marks, so your raw score is not the whole picture.

How to set your target

  1. Clear the qualifying papers first: Aim to score comfortably in reasoning, English and quantitative aptitude, since the minimum is not disclosed.

  2. Build a margin in Professional Knowledge: This paper decides merit, so keep accuracy high instead of attempting by luck.

  3. Use mock scores as a trend: Track your section scores across several tests, not a single result.

  4. For interview-only posts: Focus on shortlisting parameters, mainly experience and qualifications, and then on the interview.
