Supreme Court JCA Syllabus 2026: Section-wise Topics and Preparation Plan

Supreme Court JCA Syllabus 2026: What You Need to Study

The Supreme Court JCA syllabus 2026 covers seven sections in the objective test, an English typing test and an English descriptive paper. The Supreme Court of India set out these subjects in its Junior Court Assistant advertisement dated 30 September 2026, and three of them are new this cycle: judiciary provisions of the Constitution, the Supreme Court Rules, 2013 and the service and conduct rules of 1961.

The advertisement names the subjects and question counts but does not publish a topic-wise syllabus. The topic lists below are built from the official subject names, the source texts themselves and questions asked in previous years. Use them as a working checklist, not as an official list.

Key Changes to Know

  • Three law sections added: Constitution (judiciary), Supreme Court Rules, 2013 and the 1961 service rules now carry 35 of the 100 objective marks.

  • Computer knowledge merged: In 2025, computer knowledge was a separate 25-question test. In 2026 it is a 15-question section inside the objective test.

  • English reduced in the objective test: General English drops from 50 questions in 2025 to 20 in 2026, but it still decides the descriptive paper.

  • Older pages lag behind: Older pages may still show the 2025 three-subject written test, so follow the 2026 advertisement.
