Tech Mahindra Eligibility Criteria 2026 for Freshers
The Tech Mahindra eligibility criteria for freshers decide whether you can sit the online assessment at all, so it is worth checking them before you register. Tech Mahindra hires graduates and postgraduates through campus and off-campus drives, and the exact rules are set in each drive's notification rather than in one fixed annual document.
Tech Mahindra's public careers pages do not publish a fresher eligibility sheet. The criteria below are the ones most consistently reported for recent drives in 2024 to 2026, and they are labelled as reported. If your drive notification says something different, the notification wins.
Table of Contents

Education gap | Not more than one year between academic programmes |
Age | Commonly 18 to 28 years; some drives state 18 to 25 |

Educational qualification
The core group reported for recent drives is B.E./B.Tech in computer science, IT, electronics and communication, electronics and telecommunication, electrical and related branches, along with MCA, M.Tech and M.Sc in computer science or IT. Some broader drives are reported to accept other graduates or postgraduates, and a few have included mechanical engineering. Do not assume your branch is excluded or included without reading the drive notification.
The degree should be a full-time programme from an institution recognised by the Central or State Government or a recognised university. Whether final-year students can take part, and by which date results must be declared, is set by each drive, so check this with your placement cell.
Percentage and CGPA
Reports from recent drives mention a minimum of about 60 per cent (6.0 CGPA) across Class 10, Class 12 or diploma, and graduation. The January 2025 off-campus drives are reported to have used 65 per cent, and some 2024 drives used 70 per cent. Rounding up is generally not allowed, so 59.9 per cent does not count as 60 per cent.
If your institution awards CGPA, convert it using your university's official formula and keep the conversion letter ready. This is the most common cause of avoidable rejection.
Backlogs and education gap
Backlogs: candidates should have no active backlogs at the time of selection. Some drives expect all backlogs to be cleared before the assessment.
Education gap: a gap of up to one year between academic programmes since Class 10 is reported as acceptable, as long as no academic year is lost after joining a course.
Age limit and batches
Age is commonly reported as 18 to 28 years, with some drives stating 18 to 25. Reports vary on the date on which age is counted, so check your drive notification. Batches change with each drive: the 2024, 2025 and 2026 batches have all been reported in recent drives, and only the notification tells you which batches are open now.
Other conditions
Citizenship: Indian citizenship is reported as a requirement.
Re-application gap: one tracker reports a waiting period of about six months for candidates who recently appeared in a Tech Mahindra fresher drive. Treat this as unverified.
Service agreement: one tracker reports an indemnity bond of Rs. 1 lakh for a two-year service period. This is unverified, so confirm it in the offer letter before you accept.
Verification: background verification by an external agency is reported after selection, so keep all academic documents consistent.
Who is usually not eligible
Candidates with active backlogs on the cut-off date.
Candidates whose percentage is below the drive minimum in any one of Class 10, Class 12 or graduation.
Candidates with an education gap above the allowed limit, or with part-time or distance degrees where the drive asks for full-time.
Candidates outside the batches named in the notification.
Apply only through your placement cell or the official Tech Mahindra careers portal, and keep scanned copies of your marksheets, degree certificates and a photo ID ready.
