What you will learn. How to add, generate, bulk upload, and import questions into a live test, and how to submit it for review before it goes live.

Who this is for. Teachers with an existing live test (draft or upcoming) who need to build out or update its question bank.

Step 1: Open Manage Questions

Go to Live Tests in the sidebar and open your test. If it hasn't been published yet, you'll see a note that it's not visible to students yet. Click Manage Questions.

This opens the full question view, organised by subject, with all your question-adding options in one row: Generate with AI, Bulk Upload, Import, and Add Question.

Step 2: Add a Question Manually

Click + Add Question. Set the Question Type (e.g., Single Correct MCQ), + Marks / − Marks, then write the question and options in the content editor, which also supports images, formulas, and tables.

Step 3: Generate Questions with AI

Click Generate with AI to have Testkart draft questions for you based on your subject and topic, useful for quickly filling out a section instead of writing every question by hand.

Step 4: Bulk Upload Questions

Click Bulk Upload to add many questions at once via a spreadsheet. Testkart supports .xlsx, .xls, and .csv files, and covers Single/Multiple Correct MCQ, Numerical, Comprehension, and Assertion-Reason types. Download the CSV or Excel template to format your questions correctly before uploading.

Note: "Match the Following" questions can't be bulk uploaded; add these manually.

Step 5: Import from Your Question Bank

Click Import to pull questions you've already created elsewhere on Testkart. Filter by test series or subject, select the questions you want, and click Import Selected.

Step 6: Submit for Review

Once your questions are ready, click Submit for Review at the top of the page. Testkart's team reviews the test, including questions, schedule, prize pool, and settings, before it becomes available to students. You'll be notified once the review is complete.
