Assam TET Syllabus: Paper 1 and Paper 2 Guide
The Assam TET syllabus covers Child Development and Pedagogy, two languages and the subject sections of Paper I (Lower Primary) and Paper II (Upper Primary). The official syllabus for the latest cycle, a Special Assam TET held in June 2026, was published by the State Level Empowered Committee, TET, Government of Assam on ssa.assam.gov.in, with marks assigned to every unit.
That unit-wise split is the most useful part of the syllabus, because it tells you where the 150 marks sit. This page lists every unit with its marks, highlights the points most candidates miss and gives a phased plan to cover it. This syllabus is the latest official version; check the next notification for any revision.

Where the Marks Are
Questions on how to teach make up a large part of both papers. In Paper I, outside the 30 Child Development marks, English pedagogy and methods carry 20 marks, EVS pedagogy 4 and ICT in Mathematics 2. Add about 10 method marks in Language I, and close to 66 of 150 marks test teaching knowledge rather than subject knowledge.
Prioritise pedagogy early: It is common to both papers, so one round of preparation serves Paper I and Paper II.
Use the unit marks to order your study: Numbers (9) and geometry (6) in Paper I Mathematics, or geography and history (18 each) in Social Science, deserve time first.
Do not skip small units: One-mark and two-mark units such as ICT, probability and the Indian Knowledge System add up across the paper.
