BITSAT 2027 Syllabus: Subject-wise Topics and Preparation Plan

The BITSAT syllabus covers five subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or Biology), English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. BITS Pilani publishes the syllabus in the information bulletin for each cycle, and the PCM and Biology portions follow the Class 11 and 12 NCERT curriculum closely. If you are preparing for Class 12 boards or JEE Main, most of the BITSAT 2027 syllabus is already on your plan.

The BITSAT 2027 bulletin is expected around December 2026. Until it is released, this page uses the units listed in the BITSAT 2026 bulletin, which have stayed largely stable across recent cycles. It gives you the unit list for each subject, where to start, and a phased plan to cover everything before the exam.

Key Things to Know

  • Mathematics or Biology: Part IV is Mathematics for B.E. and M.Sc. aspirants. Biology is an option for B.Pharm and, in recent cycles, B.E. Environmental and Sustainability Engineering.

  • NCERT is the base: The PCM units match Class 11 and 12 NCERT topics. Some topics trimmed from the NCERT books, such as parts of statistics or experimental chemistry, may still appear in the BITSAT syllabus, so check the bulletin list rather than assuming.

  • English and Reasoning have no NCERT book: These need separate practice, even though they carry 90 marks together.

  • Confirm for 2027: The unit list below is from the 2026 cycle. Older pages may show outdated lists, so follow the BITSAT 2027 bulletin once released.

How to Cover the BITSAT Syllabus

  1. Months 1 to 4, concepts: Finish Class 11 and 12 NCERT concepts in PCM, with mechanics, electricity, physical chemistry, algebra and calculus first.

  2. From month 3, add Part III: 20 to 30 minutes a day on grammar, vocabulary and reasoning puzzles.

  3. Months 4 to 6, topic tests: Take short timed tests after each unit to build speed, and keep an error log.

  4. Final 8 to 10 weeks, full-length mocks: Take full mocks in the 130-question pattern, analyse them the same day and revise from your error log.

The official syllabus is published in the information bulletin on the BITS admissions website.
