DSSSB TGT Notification: Active Recruitment Cycles

DSSSB does not run TGT recruitment on a fixed annual calendar. It releases advertisements when the user departments send vacancies, and each advertisement lists posts by post code. TGT posts in core subjects usually have separate post codes for male and female candidates, because they map to boys' and girls' schools.

This is the larger cycle. Applications ran online from 9 October to 7 November 2025 for 5,346 posts, including TGT Mathematics, English, Social Science, Natural Science, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu and Punjabi, along with Drawing Teacher and Special Education Teacher posts. Subject-wise CBTs began in March 2026, and the remaining posts are being scheduled in phases.

This smaller cycle covers 967 posts: TGT Computer Science (675), Domestic Science Teacher (129) and TGT Special Education Teacher (163). Applications were open from 16 June to 15 July 2026, and 15 July 2026 was the cut-off date for eligibility. Some pages online show only 838 vacancies for this advertisement because they leave out the Domestic Science posts, so rely on the official notification.

DSSSB TGT Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is defined post by post in the recruitment rules, so always read the qualification column for your exact post code. The points below cover what most TGT posts require. For a detailed breakdown.

Educational Qualification

  • Subject degree: A bachelor's degree in the relevant subject (or with the subject studied for the required years) with at least 50% marks, or a master's degree in the subject, as the post's rules specify.

  • Teacher training: B.Ed. or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution, such as an integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

  • CTET: A pass in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (Paper II), conducted by CBSE, for regular TGT posts.

  • Post-specific rules: TGT Computer Science accepts degrees such as BCA, B.Sc. Computer Science or B.E./B.Tech in CS or IT. Special Education posts need a B.Ed. in Special Education (or an equivalent RCI-recognised qualification) and RCI registration.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for most TGT posts is 30 years, calculated as on the closing date of the application. Relaxation applies as follows:

  1. Register once: Create an OARS account with a valid email and mobile number. The same login works for every future DSSSB advertisement.

  2. Select the advertisement: Log in and choose the post code under the current advertisement.

  3. Fill in details: Enter qualification, CTET and category details exactly as they appear on your certificates.

  4. Upload documents: Add a recent photograph and signature in the format the notification specifies.

  5. Pay and submit: Pay the fee if applicable, check the preview carefully and keep a printout.

Common reasons for rejection include applying under a post code you are not eligible for, a non-Delhi OBC claim, and qualification details that do not match the certificates checked later at document verification.

DSSSB TGT Exam Pattern

DSSSB TGT is a one-tier objective exam. The paper has two sections: a general section common to all teaching posts and a subject section for your post.

Section B

100

100

Total

200

200

Each question carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. The duration is 2 hours, and questions are bilingual (Hindi and English) except in language papers.

What this means for you:

  • Half the marks come from your subject: Section B alone decides 100 marks, so a strong subject score covers for an average Section A.

  • Four wrong answers cancel one right answer: Guess only when you can rule out at least two options.

  • Time is tight: 200 questions in 120 minutes is about 36 seconds per question. Section A items like Hindi grammar and GA should go fast so the subject section gets more time.

For timing strategy and section-wise analysis, read the full DSSSB TGT exam pattern page.

DSSSB TGT Syllabus Summary

DSSSB TGT Selection Process

  1. Computer-based test: Candidates must score at least the minimum qualifying marks for their category. A merit list is then prepared post-wise based on total marks.

  2. E-dossier and document verification: Shortlisted candidates upload documents online and later present originals for verification of age, qualification, CTET and category.

  3. Nomination to the department: DSSSB sends the final result to the DoE or NDMC, which issues appointment letters after medical and character checks.

There is no interview or skill test for regular TGT posts. When two candidates have equal marks, DSSSB applies the tie-breaking order given in the notification.

DSSSB TGT Salary and Career Growth

Starting basic pay

The in-hand salary depends on the current DA rate, HRA eligibility and deductions such as pension contribution, so it changes over time. Experienced TGTs can move to PGT through promotion (with a postgraduate degree, as per rules) and later to roles such as Vice Principal, subject to departmental rules and vacancies.

How to Prepare for DSSSB TGT

The exam rewards subject depth and quick, accurate general sections. A plan that gives most time to Section B while keeping Section A in daily practice works for most candidates.

  • Start with the subject: Revise graduation-level concepts unit by unit, then solve subject MCQs. Keep NCERT Class 6 to 10 books handy for school-level clarity, since TGTs teach those classes.

  • Do not skip pedagogy: Teaching methods, assessment and child development questions overlap with CTET Paper II, so revise your CTET notes.

  • Build Section A in short daily slots: 30 minutes of arithmetic and reasoning, plus a few Hindi and English grammar questions, is enough to stay sharp.

  • Read for Delhi: General awareness questions often include facts about Delhi alongside national current affairs.

  • Solve previous papers: They show the real difficulty of the subject section, which varies across subjects.

Role of Mock Tests

Mocks matter here because the paper is long and the negative marking is real. Start full-length tests six to eight weeks before your exam date, and analyse each one for wrong answers, slow questions and skipped questions you could have solved. For timed practice in the current pattern, you can attempt DSSSB TGT mock tests on Testkart and use the section-wise analysis to decide what to revise next. Pair them with DSSSB TGT previous year papers to judge how close you are to the real paper.

Qualifying Marks and Cut-off

DSSSB sets minimum qualifying marks in its notifications. Scoring these makes you eligible for the merit list, but the actual cut-off is usually higher.

Category

Minimum qualifying marks

UR / EWS

40%

OBC (Delhi)

35%

SC / ST / PwBD

30%

Cut-offs are released post-wise, so TGT Mathematics (Male) and TGT Mathematics (Female) can have very different closing marks. They change with vacancies, difficulty and the number of candidates. Treat previous cut-offs as a benchmark only and aim for a clear margin above them. Testkart's DSSSB TGT tests can help you track whether your scores are moving towards that target.
