EPFO SSA Eligibility 2026: Age, Degree and Typing Standard

EPFO SSA eligibility in the last notification (2023 cycle) required a bachelor's degree, an age of 18 to 27 years and the ability to meet a computer typing standard. This page explains each condition and what to check before you apply.

EPFO has not announced a new SSA notification as of 20 October 2026. The conditions below are from the 2023 cycle as reported by secondary sources, and the age reference date and relaxations must be confirmed in the next notification. Do not treat any of it as the rule for the next cycle.

Educational qualification

You need a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a university or institution recognised by the relevant authority. Check three things in the notification:

• Result deadline: Whether you must hold the degree by the closing date of applications, or only be due to complete it.

• Recognition: Whether your university or open-learning degree is accepted.

• Percentage rules: Whether any minimum percentage applies.

Age limit

The age range was 18 to 27 years. The date on which age is counted is set in each notification, so work out your age against that date and not today's date. Relaxation in the upper limit is normally given to reserved categories, persons with disabilities, ex-servicemen and eligible government employees as per Government of India rules.

These are the standard Government of India relaxations and are indicative. The SSA notification lists the exact relaxations, including those for ex-servicemen and departmental candidates, and that list overrides this table.

Nationality and other conditions

• Nationality: Candidates must meet the citizenship conditions in the notification. These normally cover citizens of India and certain other categories.

• Typing standard: You must pass the computer typing test at the stated speed after the written test.

• Medical and character: Appointment is subject to the checks listed in the notification.

• One application: Submit one application with a valid email address and mobile number.

Who may not be eligible

• Candidates who do not hold a degree on the required date.

• Candidates above or below the age range, after relaxation.

• Candidates who cannot meet the typing standard.

• Candidates whose application or documents have wrong or missing details.
