GUJCET Cut Off: 2026 Percentile Benchmarks and ACPC Closing Ranks
The GUJCET cut off is often misunderstood. GSHSEB does not publish a single pass mark for GUJCET. Instead, it reports your marks and a percentile rank within your group, and the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat, combines that percentile with your Class 12 board theory percentile to prepare merit lists for engineering and pharmacy. The real "cut-off" is the closing merit at which each college, course and category fills its seats.
This page uses GSEB's official GUJCET 2026 result highlights to show how competitive each percentile band is, explains how ACPC closing ranks work, and helps you set a realistic target. Treat every figure here as a benchmark only.

What Cut-off Means for GUJCET
No GUJCET pass mark: GSEB's result reports percentile ranks rather than a pass or fail line.
Merit is combined: For 95% of government and grant-in-aid seats and 50% of unaided seats, ACPC gives equal weight to your board theory percentile and your GUJCET percentile (stated in the 2026-27 pharmacy notice and reported for engineering).
Closing ranks vary widely: Each institute, branch or course and category has its own closing merit, and it changes round by round.
GUJCET 2026 Percentile Rank Benchmarks
The table below is from GSEB's official HSC Science and GUJCET 2026 result highlights. It shows how many candidates scored above each percentile rank in Group A (engineering route) and Group B (pharmacy route).
Percentile rank (GUJCET 2026) | Group A candidates above | Group B candidates above |
|---|---|---|
99 | 695 | 764 |
98 | 1,233 | 1,563 |
96 | 2,293 | 3,088 |
94 | 3,454 | 4,554 |
92 | 4,606 | 6,049 |
90 | 5,795 | 7,615 |
85 | 8,618 | 11,380 |
80 | 11,495 | 15,173 |
70 | 17,188 | 22,754 |
60 | 22,873 | 30,261 |
50 | 28,580 | 37,908 |
In 2026, 56,865 Group A and 75,188 Group B candidates appeared. Because Group B is larger, the same percentile places more pharmacy aspirants ahead of you than it does for engineering aspirants. A 90 percentile in Group B still meant more than 7,600 candidates above you.
How ACPC Closing Ranks Work
After the merit list, ACPC runs online choice filling and seat allotment in rounds. After each round, it publishes institute-wise and course-wise closing merit numbers by category. These are the figures students usually mean by "GUJCET cut off".
This page does not reproduce college-wise closing ranks, because they depend on the round, category and seat type, and unofficial lists often mix years. Check the round-wise data on ACPC's admission portal: https://gujacpc.admissions.nic.in/
What Affects the Cut-off
Paper difficulty: A tougher paper lowers raw marks, but percentiles adjust because they compare you with your group.
Board results: With equal weight, a strong board year raises the merit needed for popular seats.
Seats and demand: Popular branches and government pharmacy colleges close earlier than less-demanded options.
Category and seat type: Closing merit differs across categories and between grant-in-aid and unaided seats.
How to Set Your Target
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, seats and the number of applicants. Treat 2026 figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.
Pick your course first: Note which institutes and courses you want, then check their last-round closing merit for your category on the ACPC portal.
Work backwards: Since board theory and GUJCET percentiles carry equal weight, decide how much of your target each must contribute.
Set a mock benchmark: Aim to score consistently above your target in full-length mocks with negative marking applied, not just once.
Protect accuracy: With a 0.25 deduction reported for 2026, fewer wrong answers often move your percentile more than extra attempts.
