CRP RRBs XV Notification Overview

IBPS released the detailed notification for CRP RRBs XV on 01.09.2026. It covers four posts in one process: Officer Scale I, Officer Scale II (General Banking and Specialist), Officer Scale III and Office Assistants (Multipurpose). Online registration was scheduled from 01.09.2026 to 21.09.2026 and was then extended to 27.09.2026 by a corrigendum dated 21.09.2026.

The vacancy table (Annexure I) has been updated twice since the notification, on 15.09.2026 and 25.09.2026. Officer Scale I stands at 4,256 indicative posts after the latest update, up from 3,928 in the updated table of the previous cycle, CRP RRBs XIV. IBPS states that these numbers are anticipated, and that provisional allotment will follow the actual vacancies the RRBs report.

• One officer post only: You may apply for Office Assistant and one officer post, but only one of Scale I, II or III. Multiple officer applications are rejected.

• State choice is final: For Scale I you pick one State/UT for provisional allotment in the online form, and that option cannot be changed later.

• Pattern unchanged: The Prelims and Mains structure for Scale I matches the previous cycle, including the English or Hindi choice in the Mains language test.

State-wise Vacancy Details

Officer Scale I vacancies are spread unevenly. Six states account for more than half of the total, while Manipur and Tripura show zero posts in the latest update. Because you compete only for the state you choose, this table matters more than the national total.

Eligibility Summary

Educational Qualification

You need a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university, with the result declared on or before 21.09.2026. Preference goes to graduates in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, agricultural marketing and cooperation, IT, management, law, economics or accountancy. There is no minimum percentage for Scale I, and working knowledge of computers is desirable.

Age Limit

You must be above 18 and below 30 years as on 01.09.2026, which means born not earlier than 02.09.1996 and not later than 01.09.2008, both dates inclusive.

Local Language Proficiency

Proficiency in the language prescribed by the RRB of your chosen state is essential. Having studied that language in Class VIII or above is treated as proficiency. If you do not meet this at selection, you get six months from joining to acquire it.

Application Fee and How to Apply

1. Register on ibps.in: Open the CRP RRBs XV link for Officers Scale I, II and III and create a registration with a valid email and mobile number.

2. Fill the form: Choose Officer Scale I, your State/UT for allotment, exam medium and centre. Use Save and Next to check details before final submission.

3. Upload documents: Photograph (20 to 50 kb), signature (10 to 20 kb), left thumb impression (20 to 50 kb) and the handwritten declaration (50 to 100 kb), plus a live photograph.

4. Pay online: Bank transaction charges are borne by you.

Preliminary Exam

Main Exam

Each wrong answer costs one fourth of that question's marks, and blank answers carry no penalty. Scores across shifts are normalised by the equi-percentile method.

What this means for you:

• Prelims is a speed test: 80 questions in 45 minutes leaves about 34 seconds a question, and you must clear the cut-off in both tests.

• Mains rewards Reasoning and Quant: They carry 100 of the 200 marks, at 1.25 marks a question.

• The language choice is yours: Pick English or Hindi based on mock scores, not habit.

Syllabus Summary

IBPS names the tests but does not publish a topic-wise syllabus. The topics above come from the notification and recent papers, so treat them as a working checklist.

Selection Process

1. Online Preliminary Exam: Qualifying only. Clear the minimum in both Reasoning and Quant and rank high enough in your category to be shortlisted.

2. Online Main Exam: Score the minimum in each test. Up to three times the declared vacancies in each state, category-wise, are called for interview.

3. Common Interview: 100 marks, coordinated by Nodal RRBs with NABARD and IBPS. Minimum 40 per cent (35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).

4. Final merit and provisional allotment: Main exam and interview are combined in an 80:20 ratio. Allotment is restricted to the RRB of the state you chose, based on merit and actual vacancies.

A reserve list is drawn in each category and stays valid for one year after provisional allotment. If two candidates tie, the older candidate is placed higher.

Salary and Career Growth

The CRP RRBs XV notification does not state the pay. Officer Scale I in RRBs generally follows the junior management scale used by public sector banks, which IBPS lists in its PO notification as basic pay of Rs. 48,480, rising in stages to Rs. 85,920. Allowances such as DA, HRA and special allowance are added as per the rules of the RRB.

This is an indicative scale, not a figure from the RRB notification, and in-hand pay varies by RRB and posting location. Confirm terms in your offer of appointment. Career progression usually runs from Scale I to Scale II (Manager) and Scale III (Senior Manager) through internal promotion.

How to Prepare for IBPS RRB PO

For the Prelims

Build speed in two subjects. Practise puzzles and seating arrangement daily, because they decide most reasoning scores, and pair them with 15-minute drills of simplification, number series and quadratic equations. From week three, take one sectional test a day for each subject.

For the Mains

Start General Awareness early, since it cannot be crammed in the four weeks between Prelims and Mains. Read rural banking topics such as NABARD, priority sector lending and financial inclusion schemes, along with monthly current affairs. Revise computer basics weekly, as 40 questions in 15 minutes reward quick recall.

Mock Tests and Revision

Move to full-length mocks four to six weeks before Prelims. Analyse each mock the same day: note wrong answers, slow questions and questions you skipped but could have solved. Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Choosing a state on vacancy count alone: A large state also draws more applicants, and you need the local language. Pick the state where you meet the language rule and can work long term.

• Ignoring the interview: It carries 20 per cent of the final score, so prepare answers on rural banking, your state's economy and your graduation subject.

• Skipping sectional practice: Separate timers leave no room to borrow time from a stronger section.

IBPS RRB PO Cut-off Reference

IBPS fixes cut-offs state-wise and category-wise, so a single national number does not exist. As an indicative reference, reported General category Prelims cut-offs for 2025 ranged widely, from the mid-30s out of 80 in Karnataka to the mid-60s in Haryana and West Bengal. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them.
