IDBI JAM 2026–27: Eligibility

IDBI JAM eligibility for the 2026–27 regional Grade O recruitment depends on age, graduation marks, the date of qualification, nationality and regional-language conditions. Checking only whether you hold a degree is not enough. The details entered in the application must be supported by the documents requested at verification and interview.

This guide uses the regional recruitment advertisement and its later DV/PI instructions. It does not apply the rules of an older PGDBF admission notice to the current route. The application window for this identified recruitment has passed; use a fresh official notice for a future cycle. Keep the eligibility reference date separate from today’s date when assessing the rules below.

Educational qualification and recognised degree

The notice accepts a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised or approved university under the stated government and regulatory framework. A diploma alone does not satisfy the degree requirement. An applicant should check the actual award, institution and recognition rather than assuming that any course described as “equivalent” is automatically accepted.

The graduation requirement is distinct from a higher qualification. Having a postgraduate degree does not remove a shortfall in the required graduation percentage. If your academic structure is unusual, consult the precise notice and obtain documentary clarification from the appropriate authority. Do not replace a required university record with an informal calculation or a coaching-site answer.

Minimum marks and grade conversion

General, EWS and OBC candidates need 60% in graduation; SC, ST and PwBD candidates need 55%. The notice does not permit rounding a shortfall up to the threshold: 59.99% is below 60%, and 54.99% is below 55%. Use all relevant semesters, years and subject papers as specified, rather than selecting only your strongest subjects.

Where a university awards CGPA, OGPA or another grade-point measure, use its prescribed conversion rule. Keep the rule with your marksheets so that the figure entered online can be explained at verification. A percentage converter found on the internet does not establish your university’s official method.

The later DV/PI instructions address cases where a standard formula is absent. They call for appropriate certification from the university or institution confirming the equivalent percentage. Obtain this early if it applies to you. The burden is to establish the notified minimum using acceptable evidence, not merely to state a favourable number in the form.

Date of passing and final-year candidates

For this recruitment, the candidate must be a graduate by 1 March 2026 and hold the relevant marksheets and degree or provisional certificate as required. A plan to finish the degree later does not satisfy that historical reference date. Read the date on the final-year or final-semester result and supporting certificate carefully.

A university website result can require proper certification from the competent authority, as described in the notice. Distinguish the date a result was declared from the date a printed document was collected. If the dates appear inconsistent, obtain a clear official record rather than assuming the bank will infer the intended date.

Age limit and date-of-birth window

The basic age range is 20 to 25 on 1 March 2026. The unrelaxed birth-date window is 2 March 2001 to 1 March 2006, with both endpoints included. Calculate against that reference date, not the application closing date or the date of the online examination.

Use the same birth date throughout the application and identity or educational documents. If a category relaxation applies, check both the category definition and the supporting certificate. Being older than the basic maximum is not automatically disqualifying when a valid concession applies, but a claimed concession must be supported under the notice.

Category

Notified upper-age relaxation

SC/ST

OBC non-creamy layer

3 years

PwBD

10 years

Eligible ex-servicemen/commissioned officers

5 years subject to the service conditions

Persons affected by 1984 riots

The advertisement specifies when SC/ST/OBC relaxation can be combined with one other eligible category. Do not add every concession arithmetically without checking the combination rule. EWS alone is not an age-relaxation entry. Ex-servicemen provisions contain service and release conditions, so the headline number is not the complete test.

Nationality and other eligibility conditions

The notice includes Indian citizens and specified other nationality categories, with a Government of India eligibility certificate where required. Those categories include subjects of Nepal or Bhutan and defined refugee or person-of-Indian-origin cases. Candidates relying on a category other than Indian citizenship should read the full wording and certificate requirement directly.

The bank also includes conditions relating to antecedents, declarations and other suitability checks. This page cannot determine an individual case from a short description. Read the application questions accurately, provide the required truthful information and follow the bank’s instructions for supporting records. Do not assume that an online registration receipt is final eligibility clearance.

Regional language, domicile and zone choice

Regional recruitment requires proficiency in the language or languages notified for the chosen zone. The advertisement discusses domicile or school records supporting the indicated language. The later DV/PI checklist lists both a valid self-domicile certificate for the applied zone/state and Class 10 or Class 12 marksheets/certificates evidencing the specified regional language. It makes clear that inability to establish the required language proficiency can prevent interview participation.

Read the later instructions alongside the original notice instead of relying on a simplified “domicile or language” summary. Prepare every document requested for your stage. An address, spoken-language claim or zone preference by itself may not establish the school or regional evidence sought. Where your case is unclear, use the official recruitment contact rather than an informal forum assurance.

Only one zone can be selected under the notice, and a later change is not permitted. Consider the notified language and state grouping before choosing it. Posting remains at the bank’s discretion, so eligibility for a zone and entitlement to a specific branch are separate questions.

Keep originals and the requested copies in the order of the official checklist. Check legibility and whether a certificate requires a seal, signature or specific format. This page deliberately avoids inventing upload dimensions or a universal certificate-validity period: those details should come from the relevant notice and stage instructions.

Common eligibility mistakes

  • Using the wrong route: A PGDBF qualification summary does not replace regional Grade O conditions. Save the advertisement number with your application records.

  • Rounding marks: A near-threshold result is still below the notified minimum. Use the university’s method and retain the calculation evidence.

  • Ignoring the reference date: A degree completed after the required date cannot be treated as completed earlier because the interview occurs later.

  • Assuming a category benefit: Check the definition and certificate requirements before claiming relaxation or reservation. A label on a general identity record may not be sufficient.

  • Leaving language evidence late: Locate school records and required domicile documentation well before DV. Spoken fluency does not replace mandatory evidence.

A self-check before any future application

Create a one-page record with the advertisement number, reference date, degree percentage, passing date, birth date, category and chosen-zone language. Beside each item, name the document that proves it. Any blank evidence column is a task to resolve before paying a fee. Repeat the check against the new notice if a future cycle changes the rules.

After confirming eligibility, use the syllabus and exam pattern to plan preparation. Testkart resources, when listed, should be chosen only after you know which recruitment you are targeting. A course purchase or mock score cannot establish eligibility; keep that administrative check separate from study progress.

Review the official JAM document-verification and interview instructions before attending your stage. If you use Testkart notes to organise preparation, keep official eligibility records in a separate folder so that revision material is never mistaken for evidence.
