Indian Army Agniveer Cut Off 2026-27: How Shortlisting Works

The Indian Army Agniveer cut off is the minimum Common Entrance Exam (CEE) score needed to be shortlisted for the recruitment rally. The notification we checked states no cut-off figure, so candidates should check the notices of their regional recruiting office (ARO). The Army shortlists candidates in proportion to vacancies, and it releases the result as ARO-wise merit lists of roll numbers.

This page explains how shortlisting works, what the official notification says, and how to set a target score for your own post. It covers the latest notified cycle, recruiting year 2027.

Scores

Normalised across exam sessions

Because the cut-off is tied to vacancies, it can differ by ARO, by post and by year. Some third-party sites publish expected percentage ranges for each post, but these are estimates, not official numbers, so we do not reproduce them here.

What affects the cut-off

  • Vacancies in your ARO and post: fewer vacancies and more applicants push the cut-off up.

  • Number of applicants: popular posts such as General Duty draw the most applications.

  • Paper difficulty: normalisation adjusts for shift difficulty, but a hard paper still lowers raw scores across the board.

  • Post level: Technical and Clerk/SKT candidates have higher qualification rules and different papers, so their benchmarks are not comparable with General Duty or Tradesman.

The CEE is not the final cut

Clearing the cut-off only gets you to the rally. Selection then depends on the Physical Fitness Test, the Physical Measurement Test, the medical examination and final merit, where bonus marks for NCC, sports and ITI or diploma can help. Technical and Clerk/SKT candidates must qualify in all physical tests. A strong CEE score with a failed medical still ends the process.

How to set your target

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

  1. Pick your post and ARO: compare yourself only with candidates for the same post.

  2. Set a mock benchmark: a score you can repeat across several full-length mocks is a better target than your single best attempt.

  3. Track accuracy and attempts: if there is a possible penalty for wrong answers, accuracy matters as much as attempts.

  4. Check each subject: a strong Maths score cannot hide a very weak General Knowledge score.

  5. Review the same day: log every wrong or skipped question and revise the log weekly.
