Indian Bank Apprentice Cut Off: How Merit Works and What Score to Aim For

The Indian Bank Apprentice cut off is not a single number. The Bank sets a minimum aggregate qualifying mark for the 100-mark online test and then ranks candidates state by state and category by category. A score that is safe in one state can fall short in another, which is why a clear target matters more than a headline figure.

We have not found an official, state-wise or category-wise cut-off table published by Indian Bank for the 2025-26 cycle, so this page does not quote one. Any marks you see on unofficial sites should be treated as unverified. Instead, you will find how the Bank decides merit, what the advertisement says about qualifying marks, and a practical way to set your own target.

What Affects the Cut Off

  • Vacancies in your state: Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh had 277 vacancies each in the 2025-26 advertisement, while several states had fewer than five. Fewer seats usually push the last selected score higher.

  • Number of applicants: More candidates for the same seats raise the competition in that state and category.

  • Difficulty of the paper: A harder test lowers the typical score, and normalisation adjusts for differences between sessions.

  • Your category: Merit lists are category-wise, and the number of posts in each category is different in every state.

  • Language test: A good online score does not help if you do not clear the local language test, unless you are exempt.

Previous Cut-Off Figures

Because no verified official figures are available, there is no previous cut-off table here. We will add one only if the Bank publishes final state-wise and category-wise marks. Until then, follow the Bank's careers page for any result or merit notice, and avoid planning your preparation around marks from unofficial sources.

How to Set Your Own Target

Since the real cut-off is not known in advance, use a margin-based target. Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat any earlier figure as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above it rather than a bare pass.

  1. Find your competition: Check the vacancies for your state and category in the official advertisement, and note that a small state with few posts is more competitive per seat.

  2. Set a stretch score: A sensible practice goal is to score consistently in the mid-sixties or higher out of 100 in mocks. This is our practice benchmark, not an official figure.

  3. Track sectional benchmarks: Work towards high accuracy in English, quantitative aptitude and general awareness, since they carry 75 marks, and keep the computer knowledge section close to full marks.

  4. Watch accuracy, not only attempts: With negative marking, a smaller number of correct attempts can beat a larger number with errors.

  5. Protect your age advantage: Ties are broken by age, so do not depend on this rule and aim to be well clear of the cut-off.

You can measure yourself against this target with Indian Bank Apprentice mock tests on Testkart, which give section-wise scores and accuracy after every attempt. For a plan on what to study first, see the syllabus guide.
