Indian Bank Apprentice Syllabus 2025-26: Section-wise Topics

The Indian Bank Apprentice syllabus covers five sections of one online test: reasoning aptitude, computer knowledge, English language, quantitative aptitude and general awareness with a banking focus. Candidates for the 2025-26 cycle faced 100 questions in 60 minutes, so knowing which topics to start with matters as much as knowing the full list.

This page gives a section-wise checklist, a study order and a simple phased plan. It also explains the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT), which is a language screening and not a subject syllabus.

A Note on the Official Syllabus

Indian Bank names the five test sections in its advertisement but does not publish a topic-wise syllabus. The topic lists below are built from the official section names and from the standard coverage of entry-level banking tests. Use them as a working checklist, not as an official list, and read the Indian Bank careers page for any change.

Local Language Proficiency Test

After the online test, you must show that you can read, write, speak and understand one specified local language of the state you applied to. The Bank sets the languages state by state, for example Tamil for Tamil Nadu, Marathi for Maharashtra and Kannada for Karnataka. If your Class 8, 10 or 12 certificate shows that you studied that language, you are exempt.

There is no topic list to memorise. If you are not exempt, practise reading a local newspaper, writing a short paragraph and holding a simple conversation in the language.

Topics to Start With

Not every topic gives equal return in a 60-minute test. English, quantitative aptitude and general awareness together carry 75 marks, so begin there. In quantitative aptitude, simplification, approximation and percentage-based questions are quick to solve once practised. In English, reading comprehension and error spotting reward regular reading. In reasoning, puzzles take longer, so first build speed on series, coding-decoding and syllogism.

Computer knowledge is small but scoring. A few days of focused revision are usually enough to cover its basics.

How to Cover the Syllabus

  1. Weeks 1 to 4, concepts: Cover arithmetic basics, grammar rules and computer fundamentals. Start a daily 30-minute reading habit for banking and current affairs.

  2. Weeks 5 to 8, topic practice: Solve topic-wise questions, add puzzles and data interpretation, and keep monthly current-affairs notes.

  3. Weeks 9 to 10, sectional timing: Attempt 15 to 20 minute sectional sets and improve your speed in each section.

  4. Final weeks, full mocks: Take full-length tests, review mistakes the same day and keep an error log for revision.

For timed practice, you can attempt Indian Bank Apprentice online tests on Testkart and use the section-wise analysis to find weak topics. Short revision notes help you recall formulas and banking terms before each mock.
