Indian Bank Apprentice Eligibility 2025-26: Age, Qualification and Conditions
Indian Bank Apprentice eligibility is built around four checks: your degree and its completion date, your age on a fixed reference date, a completed NATS 2.0 profile, and your earlier apprenticeship or work history. Many applications fail on the date rules rather than on marks, so read each condition carefully before paying the fee.
The conditions below come from the Bank's 2025-26 advertisement, published on 18 July 2025. Both age and qualification were counted as on 1 July 2025 in that cycle, and a new cycle will state its own dates.
Table of Contents

Educational Qualification
You need a graduate degree in any discipline, so arts, science, commerce and engineering graduates can all apply. The degree must be from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
Completion window: You must have completed graduation, with the passing certificate dated, on or after 1 April 2021.
Result deadline: The result must be declared on or before 1 July 2025, supported by a board or university document.
Results awaited: Candidates whose results were not declared by that date were not eligible in that cycle.
NATS 2.0 registration
Candidates who graduated on or after 1 April 2021 must register on the NATS 2.0 portal, and only a profile that is 100% complete allows you to apply. Finish this step before the application window opens, because it needs your personal, educational and contact details. The portal is the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme platform at nats.education.gov.in.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The minimum age is 20 years and the maximum is 28 years, counted as on 1 July 2025. Add the relaxation below to the upper limit if you belong to a listed category, and check your date of birth against the exact wording of the advertisement before you apply.
Category | Upper age relaxation |
|---|---|
SC and ST | 5 years |
OBC (non-creamy layer) | 3 years |
PwBD (under the RPwD Act, 2016) | 10 years |
Persons affected by the 1984 riots | 5 years |
Widows, divorced or legally separated women (not remarried) | Upper limit of 35 years (General and EWS), 38 years (OBC) or 40 years (SC and ST) |
SC, ST and OBC relaxation can be combined with only one of the PwBD or 1984-riots relaxations. Relaxation certificates must be produced in original or copy at the interview or later stages.
Nationality and Other Conditions
You can apply if you are any one of the following: a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who entered India before 1 January 1962 to settle permanently, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or the listed East African countries and Vietnam to settle in India. Candidates who are not Indian citizens must hold an eligibility certificate from the Government of India where the advertisement requires it, so read the nationality clause closely.
One state only: You may apply to one state or Union Territory. Multiple applications are not allowed.
Local language: You must be able to read, write, speak and understand the specified local language of that state, unless your Class 8, 10 or 12 certificate shows you studied it.
Medical fitness: The Bank decides whether you are medically fit.
Category Certificates
OBC: A non-creamy layer certificate issued on or after 1 April 2025 is required. Creamy layer candidates must apply as General.
EWS: The family gross annual income must be below Rs. 8 lakh, with the property exclusions listed by the Government. An income and asset certificate for 2024-25 is needed at verification.
PwBD: A benchmark disability of at least 40%, with a certificate from a competent authority dated on or before the last registration date, 7 August 2025.
SC and ST: Certificates in the prescribed Government of India format.
If a required certificate is missing at document verification, the Bank will not engage you.
Who Is Not Eligible
Earlier apprentices: Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training.
Experienced candidates: Those with one year or more of job experience after completing their qualification.
Those who left an apprenticeship at fault: Candidates who previously left an apprenticeship because of their own fault.
Ex-servicemen: Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen, who also get no reservation.
Late graduates: Graduates whose passing date falls before 1 April 2021 or whose result came after 1 July 2025.
Fee and Documents
The application fee is Rs. 800 plus GST for General, OBC and EWS candidates and Rs. 175 plus GST for SC, ST and PwBD candidates. It is non-refundable. Image sizes, steps and the full application process are summarised on the Indian Bank Apprentice recruitment page. Keep your name identical across your certificates and your application, because a mismatch can lead to disqualification.
