Infosys Exam Pattern 2026: Online Assessment Guide

The Infosys exam pattern is not one fixed paper. Infosys uses different online assessments for different fresher roles, and it publishes full details only for its Infosys Certification route. This page sets out what is official, what candidates report for the Systems Engineer (SE) test, and what each format means for your time use.

Where a figure comes from candidate reports rather than Infosys, we label it. Section timings and totals differ between sources and between drives, so treat your invitation email as the final word on the format you will face.

Infosys Certification Pattern (Official)

The examination guidelines published by Infosys describe a web-proctored online test in two parts. Read them in full on the official Infosys Certification guidelines.

The round lasts three hours, has no negative marking and needs a score of 65% or above, subject to post-round checks. The guidelines do not state marks per question.

Advantage Round

After the Certification Round you can take an Advantage Round or go to a techno-behavioural interview for the Systems Engineer role. The Advantage Round has three programming questions of different difficulty, each with a different mark weighting, over three hours. The language can be Java, Python or another one you choose on test day. Clearing it can lead to an interview for the Specialist Programmer (SP) or Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE) role, depending on performance. A pass mark for this round is not stated.

Older pages may still show a different layout or a longer total duration, so follow the instructions in your invitation. Candidates also report a coding component for SP and DSE drives, but question counts and timing differ between sources.

HackWithInfy Pattern

According to the official 2026 terms, HackWithInfy had two individual coding assessments of three hours each on the Infosys Assessment Platform. The top 100 Round 2 participants qualified for a four-day Grand Finale, chosen on overall score and/or a sectional cut-off set by the company, test cases passed and code efficiency. The terms do not state the number of problems. See the official HackWithInfy page for the current cycle.

Marking Scheme and Negative Marking

  • Certification Round: Official guidelines state no negative marking.

  • Advantage Round: Questions carry different mark weights, but individual marks are not published.

  • SE test: Infosys does not publish a marking scheme. Some guides report no negative marking, which is unconfirmed. Do not rely on random guessing until your drive confirms it.

What the Pattern Means for You

  • Sections are reported with separate timings: Practise finishing each section inside its own time limit instead of borrowing minutes from the next one.

  • Pseudocode has few questions: Five questions in about ten minutes leaves roughly two minutes each, so tracing speed matters more than theory.

  • Verbal is the longest section: Twenty questions in about twenty minutes rewards quick reading and grammar rules. It is also the section where preparation pays off fastest.

  • Coding rounds reward partial progress: Mark weights differ by question, so secure the easier problem first, then attempt the heavier ones.

Interview Stages

Candidates commonly report a technical interview and an HR interview after the online assessment. Infosys does not publish their duration or format. Prepare your projects, one programming language, OOP, DBMS and data structures.

Time Management and Exam-Day Rules

The certification guidelines set strict proctoring rules. Candidates must log in within 30 minutes of the slot start, keep their face visible, stay in the video frame and use no phone, headphones or calculator. The guidelines also require a quiet room, Chrome 70 or above, a working webcam and a stable internet connection. Breaking these rules can disqualify you from the process.

For timed practice in the current pattern, you can attempt Infosys-style online tests on Testkart and use the section-wise analysis to see where your minutes go.
