JIPMER Cut-Off 2026: NEET Closing Ranks for MBBS
JIPMER no longer holds its own MBBS entrance test. Since 2020, both of its campuses, Puducherry and Karaikal, admit MBBS students through NEET UG scores and central counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). So the JIPMER cut-off today is the closing NEET rank at which the last MBBS seat in each category was allotted in a counselling round.
This page lists the previous JIPMER closing ranks for both campuses, explains where 2026 counselling stands, what moves the numbers each year and how to set a realistic target rank. Use these figures as benchmarks, not promises.

JIPMER Cut-Off 2026: Current Status
NEET UG 2026 was first held on 3 May 2026, cancelled by the NTA on 12 May and re-conducted on 21 June 2026. MCC counselling for 2026 is in progress. Early Round 1 reports place the Puducherry General closing rank around 300, but later rounds usually shift it. Treat 2026 figures as provisional until MCC publishes the final round lists.
What Affects the JIPMER Cut-Off
Paper difficulty: A closing rank near 300 can mean very different marks in an easy year and a tough one, which is why ranks are a steadier benchmark than marks.
Seat matrix: Added or withdrawn seats in any category move its closing rank.
Round dynamics: Upgrades and surrendered seats open places in later rounds, so closing ranks often stretch after Round 1.
Campus preference: Most top rankers fill Puducherry first, which is why Karaikal closes several thousand ranks later.
How to Set Your Target Rank
Aim for a clear margin above the last closing rank of your category, not the rank itself. A General candidate targeting Puducherry should plan for a rank comfortably inside the top 250. Use the previous year's NEET marks-versus-rank data to turn that rank into a target score, and remember that Biology carries half the paper's 720 marks.
