JSSC Grade A Nurse Cut-Off: Qualifying Marks by Category

The JSSC Grade A Nurse cut-off has two layers. The first is a minimum qualifying percentage for each category, which every candidate must cross. The second is the merit cut-off, the score at which the last candidate was shortlisted for the available vacancies, and it changes with every cycle.

We could verify the minimum qualifying percentages reported for the 2022 cycle through published exam guides, but we could not verify a category-wise merit cut-off score from an official source. We have not estimated one. Everything below is indicative, so confirm the figures in the official notification and result documents.

Minimum qualifying marks (2022 cycle, indicative)

Reported minimums are given as a share of the total 480 marks. The marks column is our own calculation from those percentages.

These are floors, not selection scores. Crossing them makes you eligible to be ranked; it does not secure a place. The figures come from a single published guide and should be treated as tentative until matched with the notification.

What a merit cut-off depends on

  • Number of vacancies: more posts in a category usually lower the closing score.

  • Difficulty of the paper: a harder paper pulls the scores down across all categories.

  • Number of applicants: a larger field raises competition at the top.

  • Backlog and category split: reserved and backlog posts are filled category-wise, so the closing score differs by group.

How to set your target

Cut-offs change every cycle, so treat last cycle's floors as a benchmark only. A sensible way to set a target:

  1. Start from the minimum for your category and add a wide safety margin, rather than aiming for a bare pass.

  2. Use full-length mocks to find your steady score in the real format of 120 questions in 2 hours.

  3. Push accuracy first. Each wrong answer costs 1 mark and also loses the 4 marks it could have earned.

  4. Re-check the target when the new notification lists the number of posts in your category.
