LIC ADO Cut Off: Qualifying Marks, Past Results and Target Score
The LIC ADO cut off is the minimum score you need to move from one stage to the next, and in the end to reach the final merit list. There is no single national cut-off number. LIC declares results zone-wise and category-wise, and the Prelims, Mains and final stages each work differently. This page explains how the LIC ADO cut-off works so you can set a target that does not depend on guesswork.
As of 21 October 2026, the 2026 notification has not been released, so there is no 2026 cut-off. We also could not verify official cut-off marks for the 2023 cycle. Several websites publish figures labelled expected or trend-based, and they differ from each other, so we do not quote them here. Use the official result PDFs on the LIC website for exact numbers.
How the LIC ADO Cut-Off Works at Each Stage
Stage | What is judged | What to remember |
|---|---|---|
Prelims | Reasoning and Numerical Ability scores, with English as a qualifying test | Results were reported with category-wise and section-wise cut-offs. Candidates were shortlisted for the Mains at a multiple of the vacancies |
Mains | Total marks, with possible sectional minimums | Mains marks decide who is called for the interview |
Interview | Interview marks, with a minimum qualifying score set by LIC | The minimum is given in the notice |
Final merit | Mains plus interview marks | Reported as the basis of final selection |
The rules for shortlisting ratios, sectional minimums and the interview minimum are reported from secondary sources for 2023. Confirm them in the 2026 notice.
What Past Results Show
LIC published results for the 2023 cycle stage by stage as zone-wise lists of roll numbers. According to reports, the Prelims result came on 10 April 2023, the Mains was held on 23 April 2023, and the final result was declared on 27 June 2023. The lists name qualified candidates, and the cut-off marks were reported to come with the result notices.
Because the lists are split by zone and category, a score that clears the cut-off in one zone may not clear it in another. The numbers shown on third-party sites for this cycle are either estimates or averages, and we could not match them to an official document, so treat them with caution.
What Affects the LIC ADO Cut-Off
Paper difficulty: a tougher puzzle set or data interpretation section lowers the cut-off for everyone.
Vacancies in your zone and category: more posts usually mean a lower cut-off, and fewer posts a higher one.
Number of applicants: a zone with more applicants per post tends to see higher scores at the top.
Shortlisting multiple: a larger number of candidates called for the next stage lowers the stage cut-off.
Sectional minimums: a strong total does not help if one section is below its minimum.
How to Set Your Target Score
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass. Since you do not know the margin in advance, build your target from mock tests instead of a predicted number.
Benchmark to track | Why it matters |
|---|---|
Score in each Prelims aptitude section, not only the total | Sectional minimums can reject a candidate with a good total |
Accuracy in attempted questions | Accuracy matters more if wrong answers carry a penalty |
English score against a safe pass level | English is qualifying and must be cleared with margin |
Mains score in the insurance and financial section | It is the largest single section, and a gap here is expensive |
Trend across your last five mocks | A rising trend is a better signal than one high score |
