MHT CET Pharmacy Syllabus 2027: PCB Chapter-wise Guide
The MHT CET Pharmacy syllabus covers Physics, Chemistry and Biology from the Maharashtra State Board (SCERT) textbooks. The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra sets the exam on the full Class 12 syllabus and a fixed list of Class 11 chapters, with about 20% of questions from Class 11 and about 80% from Class 12. Students aiming for B.Pharm or Pharm.D usually write the PCB group, so this page focuses on PCB.
Below you will find the chapter-wise MHT CET PCB syllabus for 2027, where to start in each subject, the topics that carry the most questions, how the syllabus overlaps with your board and NEET preparation, and a 12-week plan to finish it. The Class 11 list follows the CET Cell's published list; the Class 12 chapters follow the current SCERT textbooks.

Key Points to Know Before You Start
Class 11 is selective: Only the listed Class 11 chapters are tested. You do not need the whole Class 11 textbook for CET, but you do need every chapter on the list.
Class 12 is complete: Every chapter of the current SCERT Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology textbooks is in scope.
Newer Class 11 additions: Vectors and Error Analysis in Physics, and Chemistry in Everyday Life in Chemistry, are part of the list in recent cycles. Older pages based on earlier syllabus documents may leave them out.
Watch for outdated chapter names: Some websites still show the Class 12 chapters from the pre-2020 textbooks, such as Circular Motion, Surface Tension or Communication Systems in Physics. Follow the current textbook names below.
Check the 2027 PDF: The CET Cell publishes the syllabus on its website for each cycle. Confirm this list against the official 2027 document on cetcell.mahacet.org once it is uploaded.

MHT CET Biology Syllabus
Biology carries 100 of the 200 marks in the PCB group, so it has the largest effect on your percentile. Questions are close to the textbook language, and many test diagrams, examples, tables and terms that students skim over.

High-Weight Areas in the PCB Syllabus
The CET Cell does not publish chapter-wise weightage. Based on the structure of the paper and recent question trends, these areas deserve extra time:
Biology genetics and reproduction: Reproduction in plants and animals, inheritance, and molecular biology together form a large share of Biology questions.
Human physiology: Respiration and Circulation, Control and Co-ordination, plus the Class 11 chapters on nutrition and excretion, are tested in detail.
Physical Chemistry: Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics and Ionic Equilibria give dependable numerical questions.
Organic Chemistry: Named reactions and conversions from the Class 12 organic chapters appear in every session.
Modern and electrical Physics: Current Electricity, Semiconductor Devices, Dual Nature and Structure of Atoms are short chapters with frequent questions.
Use this as a priority guide, not a reason to skip chapters. With 200 questions and no negative marking, every chapter is worth covering at least once.
Overlap With Class 12 Boards and NEET
Most MHT CET Pharmacy aspirants are preparing for their board exams at the same time, and many also write NEET. Planning the overlap saves weeks.
Area | MHT CET (PCB) | Maharashtra HSC boards | NEET | How to plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Textbook base | SCERT Maharashtra | SCERT Maharashtra | NCERT | Read the State Board textbook first; add NCERT-only points if you also write NEET |
Class 11 coverage | Selected chapters | Not examined in Class 12 boards | Full Class 11 | Finish the CET Class 11 list early; NEET aspirants need the rest of Class 11 too |
Question style | MCQ, 1 mark each, no negative marking | Written answers and some objective questions | MCQ with negative marking | Shift from written answers to timed MCQs right after the boards |
Biology depth | Facts, diagrams and terms from the textbook | Explanations and diagrams | Facts and concepts at a higher level | Board study builds the base; line-by-line revision prepares you for CET |
How to Cover the Syllabus in 12 Weeks
This plan assumes you have studied the Class 12 chapters for your boards and have about three months for focused CET preparation. Stretch each phase if you are starting earlier.
Weeks 1 to 4, Class 12 base: Revise all Class 12 Biology chapters line by line, with Chemistry and Physics on alternate days. Make a one-page formula sheet for each Physics and Physical Chemistry chapter.
Weeks 5 and 6, Class 11 list: Cover the 24 listed Class 11 chapters. They make up about a fifth of the paper and are often neglected after Class 12 begins.
Weeks 7 and 8, topic tests: Take chapter-wise and topic-wise tests. Practise Biology in sets of 25 questions in 20 minutes to build speed.
Weeks 9 and 10, sectional practice: Take full Biology sections (100 questions in 90 minutes) and combined Physics and Chemistry sections (100 questions in 90 minutes).
Weeks 11 and 12, full mocks: Take two to three full-length mocks a week, analyse each on the same day, and revise from your error log.
Once you have finished a chapter, test it the same week. For practice in the current pattern, you can attempt MHT CET Pharmacy online tests on Testkart, from chapter-wise tests to full-length mocks, and use the section-wise analysis to find the chapters that need another round. Pair them with previous year papers to see how closely questions follow the textbook. Teachers running MHT CET batches can also build chapter-wise PCB tests on Testkart that follow this syllabus.
