MP Police SI Eligibility 2026: Age, Education and Height
MP Police SI eligibility covers four checks: your educational qualification, your age on the reference date, your domicile and category, and the physical and medical standards for police service. The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) sets these in the rulebook for the 2026 Subedar and Sub Inspector cycle, which has 507 posts.
Two dates matter most. The online application closed on 23 September 2026, and most reports read this as the date by which you must hold the qualification and meet the age limit. A few pages quote 1 January 2026 instead, so confirm the reference date in the rulebook before you rely on a borderline age. This page explains each condition and who is not eligible.

MP Police SI Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years. The maximum age depends on your gender, category and domicile.
Category | Upper age limit |
|---|---|
MP unreserved men, MP EWS men | 33 years |
Candidates from other states (men and women) | 33 years |
MP SC, ST and OBC men | 38 years |
MP women (all categories) | 38 years |
Eligible MP government, corporation, board and autonomous body employees | 38 years |

The category-wise limits above are as reported from the 2026 rulebook. The special categories carry extra conditions, so read the exact rule for your case before applying. Relaxations do not stack beyond the limit the rulebook sets.
Domicile and Reservation
MP domicile candidates: Can claim SC, ST, OBC or EWS reservation and the matching age relaxation and fee concession, with a valid certificate.
Candidates from other states: Can apply only against unreserved posts. They get no reservation, no age relaxation and pay the unreserved fee.
Horizontal reservation: Posts are also reserved for women, ex-servicemen and police personnel within each category, as set out in the rulebook.
SI (Special Armed Force): Open to men only.
Physical and Medical Standards

Measurements are checked at the physical test stage, after the mains. Some pages also mention a lower height for certain groups; the rulebook tables are the only reliable reference, so check them if you are close to the limit. Reports also mention that conditions such as knock-knees and flat feet disqualify candidates at the medical stage; confirm this in the rulebook.

Over-age candidates: Anyone above the upper limit for their category on the reference date.
Late qualification: Candidates whose degree or diploma is not complete by the cut-off date.
Two-child rule: Candidates with more than two living children, one of whom was born on or after 26 January 2001.
Wrong stream for technical posts: Graduates without PCM for Photo, Q.D. and Finger Print, or without a Mechanical Engineering diploma for Arms.
