MPSC Study Notes: Rajyaseva Prelims and Mains Revision Guide
Concise MPSC Rajyaseva notes for revising General Studies, Maharashtra topics and current affairs for the Prelims and descriptive Mains.
Good MPSC study notes turn a very large syllabus into something you can revise in days, not months. For the Rajyaseva exam, they need to do two jobs: hold the facts you need for the objective Prelims, and hold the arguments, data and examples you need for the descriptive Mains that the Maharashtra Public Service Commission introduced from the 2025 cycle.
This page explains what to put in your notes for each part of the exam, how to organise them, and how to fit revision around mock tests. Whether you write your own or use ready-made notes, the aim is the same: short, accurate pages you will actually go back to.
What to include in your MPSC notes

How to organise your notes
Short notes per topic: One to two pages per topic, written after you finish it, not while you first read it.
Maharashtra file: A separate set for state-specific facts, since they appear across GS papers.
Formula sheet: A single CSAT sheet you can revise in ten minutes.
Error log: Every mistake from mocks, written as the correct fact in one line.
Monthly current affairs notes: One compilation per month covering state and national news, linked to syllabus topics.
Mains value-add: For each GS topic, add two or three data points, a scheme and an example you can use in answers.
Revision schedule
Daily: 30 minutes on the previous day's notes and current affairs.
Weekly: Revise the week's topics and your error log.
Monthly: Revise one full subject and that month's current affairs notes.
Last six weeks: Notes only. Revise every subject at least twice alongside full mocks.
Official and reliable sources
Base your notes on school textbooks for fundamentals, the Constitution text for polity, and official publications such as the Economic Survey of Maharashtra and state budget documents. Use the scheme of examination on mpsc.gov.in as your topic checklist.
