Rajasthan Patwari
Rajasthan Patwari is a recruitment exam for the recruitment of Patwaris (village revenue officers), relevant to candidates preparing for state government department recruitment.
Rajasthan Patwari Study Material
The Rajasthan Patwari exam is the direct recruitment test for Patwari posts in the state's revenue department. A Patwari is the village-level official who keeps land records, prepares crop inspection reports and supports the tehsil office. The exam is conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), which was earlier called the Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB).
The latest completed cycle is Patwar Direct Recruitment 2025 (Advertisement No. 02/2025), which filled 3,705 posts, with the updated final result released on 9 July 2026. As of October 2026, RSSB has not released a new Patwari advertisement. This page covers the 2025 notification, eligibility including the CET requirement, exam pattern, syllabus, selection process, salary, previous cut-offs and a preparation plan you can start now.

Latest Update: Rajasthan Patwari Recruitment in 2026
The Patwar 2025 cycle is now complete. RSSB declared the final result and merit list on 31 December 2025 and released an updated final result on 9 July 2026, which added 365 candidates (308 Non-TSP and 57 TSP) after verification. No fresh Patwari advertisement has been published on the official website as of mid-October 2026.
Some websites show an "expected" vacancy figure for the next cycle. RSSB has not confirmed any such number, so treat these figures as speculation until an official advertisement is out.
The update that matters most right now is the CET. Rajasthan Patwari recruitment is open only to candidates who have qualified the Common Eligibility Test (CET) Graduate Level. The CET Graduate Level 2026 (Advertisement No. 09/2026) had its application window from 4 July to 2 August 2026, and its exam is scheduled for 1 to 3 December 2026. Patwari is listed among the posts covered by this CET, so it is likely to be the gateway for the next Patwari recruitment. Check the next Patwari advertisement for the exact CET it accepts.

Rajasthan Patwari Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility has three parts: education, computer qualification and the CET. You must meet all three by the date set in the advertisement.
Educational Qualification
Graduation: A bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification.
Computer qualification: Any one of the listed certificates, such as O Level from NIELIT, COPA or DPCS, a diploma or degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications, an engineering degree, RS-CIT, or Senior Secondary with Computer Science or Computer Applications as a subject.
Language and culture: Working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
CET Requirement
For the 2025 cycle, only candidates declared qualified in the CET (Graduate Level) 2024 could apply. The CET is a screening test. Qualifying it does not give you a job, but without it you cannot fill the Patwari form. For the CET, the reported qualifying mark is 40 percent (35 percent for SC and ST candidates), and the score is reported to be valid for three years from the result date. Confirm both rules in the CET advertisement you appear under.
Age Limit
For Patwar 2025, candidates had to be between 18 and 40 years of age as on 1 January 2026. Reserved categories get relaxation in the upper age limit under Rajasthan government rules.
Category | Upper age relaxation (as reported for Patwar 2025) |
|---|---|
General category women | 5 years |
SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS men of Rajasthan | 5 years |
SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS women of Rajasthan | 10 years |
Persons with benchmark disability | Additional relaxation as per rules |
Widows and divorced women | No upper age limit |
The relaxation figures are reported from the 2025 advertisement and can be revised. Check the advertisement for your exact entitlement.
Application Fee and How to Apply
RSSB collects fees through its one-time registration system. The fees reported for Patwar 2025 are below.
Category | Fee |
|---|---|
General and creamy layer OBC, MBC | Rs. 600 |
Non-creamy layer OBC, MBC, EWS, SC, ST of Rajasthan | Rs. 400 |
Persons with disability | Rs. 400 |
Correction in a submitted form | Rs. 300 |
Candidates who paid the one-time fee in an earlier RSSB application may not need to pay again, depending on the rules in force. Read the fee clause of the new advertisement before paying.
How to Apply
Log in to SSO Rajasthan: Applications are filled through the Rajasthan SSO portal using your SSO ID.
Open the recruitment portal: Select the Patwari recruitment from the list of open RSSB advertisements.
Check your CET details: Your CET result is linked to the application, so make sure your CET qualification is shown correctly.
Fill and verify details: Enter personal, category, education and computer qualification details exactly as in your certificates.
Pay the fee if required and submit: Download the confirmation for your records.
Common reasons for trouble later include a wrong category, a computer certificate that is not on the list, or details that do not match your documents during verification.
Rajasthan Patwari Exam Pattern
The Patwari exam is a single objective paper conducted offline on OMR sheets. Each question has five options, A to E, where option E is used to mark a question you do not want to answer.
Subject | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
General Science, History, Polity and Geography of India, General Knowledge and Current Affairs | 38 | 76 |
Geography, History, Culture and Polity of Rajasthan | 30 | 60 |
General English and Hindi | 22 | 44 |
Mental Ability and Reasoning, Basic Numerical Efficiency | 45 | 90 |
Basic Computer | 15 | 30 |
Total | 150 | 300 |
The paper lasts 3 hours. Each question carries 2 marks, and one-third of the marks of a question is deducted for every wrong answer. If you leave a question without darkening any of the five circles, the same deduction applies, and leaving more than 10 percent of questions unmarked leads to disqualification.
What this means for you:
Reasoning and maths decide the merit: This section alone carries 90 marks, nearly a third of the paper.
Rajasthan GK is a separate 60-mark block: State history, culture and polity need dedicated preparation, not just general reading.
Use option E deliberately: Mark E for questions you skip, and never leave a row blank.

Selection Process
CET (Graduate Level): A screening test you must qualify before you can apply.
Patwari written exam: The 300-mark paper. Marks are normalised across shifts when the exam runs in more than one shift.
Document verification: Candidates shortlisted on merit verify their certificates, category and computer qualification.
Final merit list: Prepared from the written exam marks, separately for Non-TSP and TSP areas.
Appointment and probation: Selected candidates join as probationer-trainees for two years.
Rajasthan Patwari Salary and Job Profile
Patwari posts sit at Level 5 of the Rajasthan pay matrix. During probation, appointees get a fixed monthly remuneration set by the state government. After probation, they move to the regular pay scale with allowances.
Stage | Pay |
|---|---|
Probation (2 years) | Fixed remuneration as per state rules (reported at Rs. 14,600 a month, indicative) |
After probation | Pay Matrix Level 5, basic pay Rs. 20,800 plus DA, HRA and other allowances |
In-hand pay after probation depends on the current DA rate, HRA of the posting place and deductions. This is not an official in-hand figure.
What a Patwari Does
Land records: Maintains records such as jamabandi and khasra for the villages in the patwar circle.
Girdawari: Inspects crops and records crop details for each field.
Field reports: Prepares reports for mutation, land disputes and certificates requested through the tehsil.
Relief work: Assesses crop damage after floods, drought or hailstorms.
With experience and departmental exams, Patwaris can be promoted to Land Records Inspector (Girdawar) and, further on, to Naib Tehsildar.
Previous Year Cut-off at a Glance
The table shows selected final cut-off marks (out of 300, normalised) from the updated Patwar 2025 final result, as reported from the RSSB result notice.
Category | Non-TSP (2025) | TSP (2025) |
|---|---|---|
General (male) | 253.24 | 226.33 |
OBC (male) | 249.37 | Not reported |
SC (male) | 232.60 | 210.34 |
ST (male) | 230.49 | 180.55 |
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat these as a benchmark only.
How to Prepare for the Rajasthan Patwari Exam
With no new advertisement yet, you have time to build a base. A General cut-off above 250 out of 300 in 2025 shows that accuracy across all five sections matters more than strength in one.
Stage-wise Plan
First, clear the CET: If you are appearing in the CET Graduate Level, prepare for it first. Its syllabus overlaps heavily with the Patwari paper, especially reasoning, maths, Rajasthan GK and computer basics.
Build Rajasthan GK early: Make short notes on history, culture, fairs, folk deities and administration, and revise them weekly.
Practise reasoning daily: Solve 20 to 30 reasoning and arithmetic questions every day for speed.
Do not skip computer basics: 30 marks come from a short, predictable syllabus.
Read previous papers: RSSB publishes question papers and answer keys after each exam. Solve the Patwar 2025 and 2021 papers to see the real level.
Mock Tests and Practice
RSSB does not publish an official online mock test for the Patwari exam. Its answer key section and the official website are the right places for past papers and keys. For timed practice in the current 150-question pattern.
Keep an error log of every mistake from your mocks, revise it each weekend, and take full-length tests at the same time as the exam shift. Testkart also lets you check your progress across tests, which helps you decide whether to spend the next week on Rajasthan GK or on reasoning.
