State Government Recruitment

Rajasthan Patwari Eligibility 2026: CET, Qualification, Age Limit and Relaxation

Rajasthan Patwari eligibility rests on three requirements: a bachelor's degree, a recognised computer qualification and a qualifying result in the Common Eligibility Test (CET) Graduate Level conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB). On top of these, you must fall within the age limit and meet the nationality and general conditions in the advertisement.

This page explains each condition as it applied in Patwar 2025 (Advertisement No. 02/2025), the latest Patwari recruitment, including the age limit, category-wise relaxations, the full list of accepted computer certificates and the CET rules. RSSB has not released a new Patwari advertisement as of October 2026, so use this as a checklist and confirm every point in the next notification.

CET Graduate Level: The First Requirement

The Common Eligibility Test (CET) is RSSB's screening exam for many graduate-level posts. You cannot apply for Patwari without a qualifying CET result, however good your degree or computer qualification is.

How the CET Rule Worked in 2025

  • Which CET counted: For Patwar 2025, candidates had to be declared qualified in the CET (Graduate Level) 2024.

  • Qualifying mark: The CET qualifying mark is reported as 40 percent of total marks, and 35 percent for SC and ST candidates. These rules are set in the CET advertisement.

  • Score validity: A CET score is reported to remain valid for three years from its result date.

  • CET does not give a job: It only makes you eligible to apply. Merit for Patwari comes from the separate Patwari written exam.

What This Means for the Next Cycle

The CET Graduate Level 2026 (Advertisement No. 09/2026) lists Patwari among its covered posts. Its application window ran from 4 July to 2 August 2026, and the exam is scheduled for 1 to 3 December 2026. If you plan to apply for the next Patwari recruitment, appearing in and qualifying a valid CET Graduate Level is the first step. Which CET results the next Patwari advertisement accepts will be stated in that advertisement.

A CET Senior Secondary (12th) Level result is not enough for Patwari, because the post needs graduation. Make sure you hold the Graduate Level CET.

If You Did Not Apply for CET 2026

If you missed the CET Graduate Level 2026 application window, check whether you hold a CET Graduate Level result that is still within its validity period. If you do not, you will need to wait for the next CET cycle before you can apply for Patwari. RSSB announces CET schedules through its exam calendar and notices, so keep an eye on them and register on the SSO portal in advance, so that you are ready when the next application window opens.

Educational Qualification

You need a bachelor's degree from a university recognised by law in India, or a qualification declared equivalent by the government. Any stream is accepted: arts, science, commerce, engineering or others.

  • Any graduation counts: A B.A., B.Sc, B.Com, B.Tech or any other bachelor's degree is acceptable, as long as the university is recognised.

  • No minimum percentage: No minimum graduation percentage was set for Patwar 2025.

  • When you must hold it: Educational and computer qualifications are normally required by the last date of the application window. Check the advertisement for the exact cut-off date before applying as a final-year student.

  • Distance and open university degrees: These are generally accepted if the university and programme were recognised at the time. Keep proof of recognition handy for document verification.

Along with graduation, you need any one of the computer qualifications below. This list follows the Patwar 2025 advertisement as reported.

These figures come from the 2025 cycle and can be changed by the state government. Some reports also mention an extra one-time relaxation in 2025 because recruitment had not been held for some years; confirm any such relaxation in the official advertisement before relying on it.

Points to Remember About Relaxation

  • Domicile matters: Category relaxations for SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS apply only to bona fide residents of Rajasthan.

  • Creamy layer: OBC and MBC candidates in the creamy layer are treated as General for fee and relaxation purposes.

  • Certificates must be valid: Category and non-creamy layer certificates should be valid as per the dates in the advertisement.

Nationality and Domicile

Candidates must be citizens of India. RSSB advertisements also list certain other groups who can apply, such as subjects of Nepal or Bhutan and specified persons of Indian origin, subject to an eligibility certificate from the government.

  • Rajasthan residents: Can claim category reservation, relaxations and lower fees if they hold valid certificates.

  • Candidates from other states: Can apply, but are treated as General category for fees, age and reservation, whatever their category in their home state.

  • Language requirement: All candidates need working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.

TSP and Non-TSP Area Posts

Patwari vacancies are split into the Scheduled Area (TSP) and the Non-Scheduled Area (Non-TSP). In Patwar 2025, 522 of the 3,705 posts were in the TSP area and 3,183 in the Non-TSP area.

  • Separate merit lists: RSSB prepares separate merit lists and cut-offs for the two areas.

  • Residence rules: TSP posts have their own rules on who can be considered against them, linked to residence in the Scheduled Area. Read this part of the advertisement carefully and fill the area details in your form correctly.

  • Certificates: If you claim a Scheduled Area residence, keep the required residence certificate ready for document verification.

Other Conditions in the Advertisement

RSSB advertisements include general conditions that apply to Rajasthan government service. The points below are common in these advertisements; the exact list for Patwari will be in the notification.

  • Character: Candidates must be of good character, and a certificate of conduct may be required.

  • Medical fitness: Selected candidates must be medically fit to carry out the duties of the post.

  • Marital and family conditions: Rajasthan service rules include conditions on marriage and family that can affect eligibility for appointment. Read the general conditions section of the advertisement.

  • Government employees: Serving employees may need to inform their department or submit a no-objection certificate, as per rules.

Who Is Not Eligible: Common Reasons for Rejection

Many applications fail at document verification, not at the exam. These are the usual reasons.

  • No valid CET result: Not qualifying the required CET Graduate Level, or relying on a score that has expired.

  • Computer certificate not on the list: Short private courses that are not on the accepted list do not count.

  • Qualification after the deadline: Holding the degree or computer certificate only after the date fixed in the advertisement.

  • Wrong category claim: Claiming OBC or MBC non-creamy layer, or EWS, without a valid certificate for the required period.

  • Age outside the range: Being over the upper age limit after counting only the relaxation you are actually entitled to.

  • Mismatch in details: Name, date of birth or category in the form not matching your certificates.
