RRB Technician Grade 1 Signal Cut Off: Previous Marks and Target
The RRB Technician Grade 1 Signal cut off is the normalised score up to which candidates were shortlisted for document verification in a given RRB and category. The cut-off for CEN 02/2026 has not been released, because the result is still awaited after the CBT held in October 2026. This page shows the last published figures from the previous cycle, CEN 02/2024, so you can set a realistic target.
Cut-offs are published separately by each Railway Recruitment Board, and they differ by RRB, zone and category. Use the figures below as a benchmark only.
Previous cut off: CEN 02/2024 (Grade 1 Signal)
One RRB published the normalised cut-off marks of candidates provisionally empanelled for Technician Grade 1 Signal as follows.
Category | Normalised cut-off marks (CEN 02/2024) |
|---|---|
UR | 68.10 |
OBC | 63.61 |
EWS | 63.80 |
SC | 58.09 |
ST | 48.08 |
Ex-servicemen | 50.90 |
The paper in that cycle was out of 100 marks. Other RRBs showed different values: for example, zone-wise UR cut-offs on one board's list ranged from about 67 to 70 marks. Open the cut-off PDF of the RRB you applied to for exact figures, because they can vary by several marks.
Trend
Grade 1 Signal cut-offs in the earlier cycle were high for general candidates, in the late 60s out of 100, because the vacancy count was small compared with the number of candidates. Reserved categories were lower, with ST the lowest. A cut-off for CEN 02/2026 has not been published yet, so no trend beyond one cycle is claimed here.
What affects the cut off
Difficulty of the paper: A harder technical section lowers scores and cut-offs.
Number of vacancies: Fewer posts push the cut-off up.
Number of candidates: More applicants in a region raises competition.
Normalisation: Shift-wise normalisation can move your marks up or down from the raw score.
Category and RRB: The same score can qualify in one RRB and not in another.
How to set your target
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last cycle's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass. For a general candidate, a mock score of 72 to 75 out of 100 gives a comfortable buffer over the earlier level, while reserved-category candidates can adjust the target using the table above.
Track accuracy as well as score, since a wrong answer costs one-third of a mark.
Check that every section clears the minimum qualifying percentage for your category.
Use your answer key score to estimate where you stand once the result is out.
Official cut-offs and results appear on the official RRB website.
