Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board Junior Accountant
RSMSSB Junior Accountant is a recruitment exam conducted by Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board for the recruitment of Accountants, relevant to candidates preparing for recruitment at public sector undertakings and central institutions.
The RSMSSB Junior Accountant exam is the combined direct recruitment for Junior Accountant and Tehsil Revenue Accountant (TRA) posts in the Rajasthan government. It is conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), which was earlier called the Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB). Selected candidates handle accounts, payments and revenue accounting work in state departments and tehsil offices.
As of October 2026, the board has not released a new Junior Accountant and TRA notification. The most recent cycle is Advertisement No. 02/2023 for 5,388 posts, with the written exam held on 11 February 2024 and final results issued from December 2024. This guide uses that cycle as the reference point and flags what may change when the next notification arrives.

RSMSSB Junior Accountant Notification: Where the Cycle Stands
The 2023 notification was issued on 20 June 2023 as a joint recruitment for both posts. Only candidates who had qualified the Rajasthan Common Eligibility Test (CET) at graduation level could apply. The written exam was first planned for 2023 and was finally held on 11 February 2024 in two sessions on the same day.
Results moved more slowly than usual. The board released the result and document verification list on 27 June 2024. The Rajasthan High Court stayed the final result while petitions on age and computer qualification were heard, and the stay was lifted on 6 December 2024, as reported in the press. Final recommendations for Junior Accountant followed in December 2024.
No newer Junior Accountant and TRA advertisement has been published by RSSB so far. Other accounts-related RSSB recruitments, such as Accounts Assistant posts, are separate exams with their own notifications and are not covered here.
Earlier Junior Accountant recruitments in Rajasthan were conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission under its own notifications and scheme. Those cycles are covered on our RPSC Junior Accountant exam page. Every fact on this page relates only to the RSSB (RSMSSB) cycle.

RSMSSB Junior Accountant Exam Pattern
The written exam has two papers on the same day. Each paper has 150 multiple-choice questions, 25 per subject, at 3 marks each, for 450 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes.
Paper 1
Test | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
General Hindi | 25 | 75 |
General English | 25 | 75 |
General Knowledge of Rajasthan | 25 | 75 |
Everyday Science | 25 | 75 |
Mathematics | 25 | 75 |
Basics of Computer | 25 | 75 |
Total (2 hours 30 minutes) | 150 | 450 |
Paper 2
Test | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
Book-Keeping and Accountancy | 25 | 75 |
Business Methods | 25 | 75 |
Auditing | 25 | 75 |
Indian Economics | 25 | 75 |
Rajasthan Service Rules (selected chapters) and Joining Time Rules, 1981 | 25 | 75 |
GF&AR Part I (selected chapters) | 25 | 75 |
Total (2 hours 30 minutes) | 150 | 450 |
One-third of a question's marks (1 mark) is deducted for each wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks were reported as 35% in each paper and 40% in aggregate, with relaxation for SC and ST candidates; confirm this in the next notification.
What this means for you
Paper 2 decides the merit: Accountancy, auditing and the rules subjects are where commerce graduates gain and others lose marks, so give them steady weekly time.
Guessing is costly: A wrong answer wipes out a third of a correct one, so attempt only where you can eliminate options.
Every subject carries equal weight: No subject can be skipped, because 75 marks per subject is too much to give away.
Older pages may still show a 2023 exam date or different pay figures, so follow the official notice. The full breakdown is on the RSMSSB Junior Accountant exam pattern page.

Run Paper 1 in parallel: Give 45 to 60 minutes a day to Rajasthan GK and current events, and keep maths practice daily.
Make short notes for rules: Section-wise notes on GF&AR and service rules save time in revision.
Practise in the real format: Two papers of 2 hours 30 minutes on the same day test stamina as well as knowledge.
