RSMSSB Junior Accountant Cut Off: 2023 Cycle Marks and Trend

The RSMSSB Junior Accountant cut-off is the lowest combined score, out of 900 marks across Paper 1 and Paper 2, at which candidates of a category were shortlisted or finally recommended. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB, formerly RSMSSB) publishes cut-offs category-wise, separately for non-scheduled and scheduled areas, and separately for women.

The figures below are from the latest cycle, Advertisement No. 02/2023, whose exam was held on 11 February 2024. No newer cycle has been notified as of October 2026. Use these numbers as a benchmark for your target, not as a prediction for the next exam.

In June 2024, RSSB called about twice as many candidates as posts for document verification. That is why the DV-stage marks above sit lower than the final cut-offs. These are press-reported figures and should be read as indicative.

Trend and What It Tells You

The 2023 cycle is the first RSSB Junior Accountant exam held under the CET-based two-paper scheme, so a long trend is not yet available. Two points stand out. A general-category candidate needed over 600 out of 900, about 67%, for a final non-scheduled-area seat. Even the DV shortlist needed about 64%. Earlier Junior Accountant cycles run by RPSC used a different scheme and are not comparable; see the separate RPSC Junior Accountant page for those.

What Affects the Cut-off

  • Vacancies: The 2023 cycle had 5,388 posts. A smaller notification would push cut-offs up.

  • Applicants: Only CET-qualified candidates can apply, so the pool size depends on the CET result.

  • Paper difficulty: A harder Paper 2 in accountancy or rules lowers scores across the board.

  • Negative marking: The 1-mark penalty per wrong answer compresses scores and rewards accuracy.

  • Area and gender: Scheduled-area and women's seats have separate, usually lower, cut-offs.

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last cycle's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

How to Set Your Target

  1. Pick a margin: If you are in the general category, aim for 630 to 650 out of 900 in practice tests, which is above the last final cut-off.

  2. Split it by paper: Roughly 300 to 320 in each paper, keeping both well clear of the per-paper minimum.

  3. Convert to questions: At 3 marks per correct answer and 1 mark lost per wrong one, 310 in a paper needs about 110 correct with no more than 20 wrong.

  4. Track by subject: Note which subjects fall below 50 marks out of 75 and fix them first.
