RSMSSB LDC Eligibility 2026: Age Limit, Qualification and Relaxations
RSMSSB LDC eligibility for the 2026 cycle comes down to four checks: a Senior Secondary (12th) pass, a recognised computer qualification, working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script and Rajasthan culture, and an age between 18 and 40 years on the reference date. The recruitment covers Clerk Grade-II and Junior Assistant posts and is run by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), earlier called RSMSSB, under Advertisement No. 04/2026.
This page explains each rule in plain language, shows the age relaxation reported for each category and lists the mistakes that cause rejection at document verification. The rules below come from reports of the 2026 notification. Eligibility is the one area where a small error can cancel a candidature, so read the exact wording in the official notification at https://rssb.rajasthan.gov.in/ before you rely on any line here.

Eligibility at a Glance
Criterion | Requirement (2026 cycle, reported) |
|---|---|
Posts | Junior Assistant and Clerk Grade-II (LDC) |
Education | Senior Secondary (10+2) from a recognised board |
Computer qualification | Recognised certificate, diploma or degree in computers |
Language | Working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script |
Culture | Knowledge of Rajasthan culture |
Age | 18 to 40 years as on 1 January 2027 |
Attempts | No attempt limit is mentioned in reports |
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary examination (Class 12) from a recognised board or an equivalent examination. Reports say that candidates in the final year of qualifying courses could apply but had to show proof of passing by the date set in the notification. Check that your board is recognised and that your certificate is in hand before verification.
Stream: reports do not restrict the stream, so Arts, Commerce and Science candidates can apply.
Higher qualifications: graduates and postgraduates may apply as long as they meet the listed requirements.
Marks: no minimum percentage in 12th is mentioned in reports of this notification.
Computer Qualification
This is the rule that most often decides eligibility for the Junior Assistant and Clerk Grade-II posts. The notification, as reported, accepts one of the following:
Type of qualification | Examples mentioned in reports |
|---|---|
Certificate courses | O Level, A Level, B Level or C Level (NIELIT/DOEACC), CCC, COPA, DPCS, RS-CIT |
Diploma | Diploma in computer science, computer applications or information technology |
Degree | Degree in computer science, computer applications or IT |
12th with computer subject | Reported by one source as an equivalent. Confirm in the notification |
Different sources list the accepted courses slightly differently, so do not assume that a course is valid because it appears on a list online. Compare the name of your certificate and the issuing body with the list in the notification, and ask the issuing institute for an equivalence letter if there is doubt.
When the qualification must be earned
The qualification should normally be held by the cut-off date set in the notification. A course completed after that date may not count. Read the date carefully.
Language and Culture Requirement
Candidates should have working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and a general knowledge of Rajasthan's culture. This is a conditions-based requirement, and in practice the written papers test it, since Paper II includes General Hindi and Paper I includes Rajasthan GK. It is not a separate certificate.
CET Condition: Check the Notification
Some secondary reports of the 2026 notification say candidates must have qualified the Rajasthan Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level) 2024. Other reports do not mention it at all. We could not verify this from the official document, so treat it as an open point. If you did not appear in the CET, read the eligibility clause of the notification before planning for this recruitment, and look at the CET pages on the board's website as well.
Age Limit
Item | Detail (reported) |
|---|---|
Minimum age | 18 years |
Maximum age | 40 years |
Reference date | 1 January 2027 |
The reference date is set a year ahead of the notification date, which is the usual practice in Rajasthan recruitment. Do not use today's date to calculate your age. Use the date of birth on your 10th certificate, because that is the proof accepted for age.
A simple way to check
Count your completed years on 1 January 2027. If you are 18 or older and not above the maximum for your category, you meet the age condition. Check the exact counting rule on the upper limit, including whether the day before the birthday counts, in the notification.
Age Relaxation by Category
Reports of the 2026 notification give the following relaxations in upper age. They apply as per Rajasthan government rules, and often only to candidates with Rajasthan domicile. Some departments may add small extra relaxations.
Category | Upper age relaxation (reported) |
|---|---|
SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EBC (Rajasthan domicile), men | 5 years |
General category women (Rajasthan domicile) | 5 years |
SC, ST, OBC women (Rajasthan domicile) | 10 years |
Ex-servicemen | Up to 15 years, as per the notification |
Persons with disabilities | An additional 5 years over the category relaxation, as reported |
These are indicative, and the final figures are in the notification. If you claim a relaxation, keep the matching certificate, such as caste, domicile, discharge book or disability certificate, ready.
Nationality, Domicile and Other Conditions
Nationality: Indian citizenship is the general requirement for state government posts. Check the clause for citizens of other categories.
Domicile: candidates from other states can usually apply but may not get reservation benefits, which apply to Rajasthan domicile holders. Reports also mention that the fee differs for some groups.
Character and conduct: candidates must meet the general service conditions of Rajasthan government, including a clean record for appointment.
Medical and physical: no special physical standard is reported for clerical posts, but medical fitness for government service applies at appointment.
Other requirements: the Scheduled Area and Non-Scheduled Area vacancy lists have their own conditions. Read the area clause if you are applying under the Scheduled Area quota.
Who May Not Be Eligible
No computer certificate: a candidate without a listed computer qualification cannot be considered, even with a high written score.
Age above the limit: being even a few days past the maximum age after relaxation usually leads to rejection.
Certificate from an unrecognised board or institute: a 12th or computer certificate that is not recognised may be rejected.
Result not declared by the due date: final-year candidates who cannot show a passing result by the stated date risk cancellation.
Category claimed without proof: a category certificate that is missing, expired or not in the correct format may lead to treatment under the unreserved category.
Fee and Documents
The fee reported for the 2026 cycle was Rs. 600 for General and creamy-layer OBC candidates, and Rs. 400 for other reported categories such as non-creamy-layer OBC and MBC, EWS, SC, ST and persons with disabilities.

Eligibility Checklist Before You Apply
Read the latest notification: note the advertisement number, the reference date for age and the list of accepted computer qualifications.
Match your documents: compare names and dates of birth across your 10th, 12th, computer certificate, Aadhaar and SSO profile. Fix mismatches early.
Check category and domicile proof: make sure each certificate is current and in the format asked.
Plan for the later stages: eligibility continues beyond the form. The typing test and document verification will test the same facts again.
