RSMSSB LDC Syllabus 2026: Topic-Wise Subjects and Study Checklist

The RSMSSB LDC syllabus covers two written papers: Paper I with General Knowledge, Everyday Science and Mathematics, and Paper II with General Hindi and General English. A typing test in Hindi and English follows for shortlisted candidates. The exam is run by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), earlier known as RSMSSB, for the combined Clerk Grade-II and Junior Assistant recruitment.

This page turns the syllabus into a checklist you can tick off. It also tells you where to begin, which areas deserve more time and how the two papers connect to each other. The details below follow the 2026 cycle (Advertisement No. 04/2026) but the subject structure is stable from year to year.

Honesty note: the board names the papers and subjects in its notification, but topic lists published online are built from the board's earlier syllabi and from questions asked in previous exams. Use the lists below as a working checklist, not as an official list, and compare them with the syllabus attached to the official notification at https://rssb.rajasthan.gov.in/

  • Rajasthan focus: a large share of General Knowledge is about Rajasthan, including geography, history, art, culture and schemes. National topics come second.

  • Class 10 level science and maths: the science and mathematics sections are reported to follow secondary-school level, so strong basics matter more than advanced tricks.

  • Two languages: Hindi and English both count equally in Paper II. A weak language can pull down an otherwise good score.

  • Old pages mislead: earlier Clerk Grade-II exams had a different structure. Ignore any page that still shows the older scheme.

Paper I: General Knowledge Syllabus

General Knowledge is the most flexible part of the syllabus, so build it unit by unit and revise often.

Unit

Topics to cover

Start with

Current affairs

National and Rajasthan events, appointments, awards, sports, government schemes, important institutions

Last 12 months, month by month

Geography of Rajasthan

Physical divisions, climate, rivers and lakes, soils, forests, wildlife, minerals, irrigation projects

Physical divisions and rivers

Agriculture and major schemes

India: polity, history, geography

Constitution basics, freedom movement, physical features of India

Constitution basics

High-weight areas

Geography and culture of Rajasthan give the most repeat-friendly questions, since the facts are fixed and the question style is predictable. Current affairs reward daily reading. Keep short monthly notes instead of long diaries, and revise them at the end of each month.

Paper I: Everyday Science Syllabus

Everyday Science is about how science shows up in daily life. Questions are factual and mostly direct.

Branch

Topics to cover

Start with

Physics

Light (reflection, lenses, defects of vision), electricity and Ohm's law, motors and generators, household appliances

Electricity and light

Chemistry

Physical and chemical changes, metals and non-metals, oxidation and reduction, carbon compounds, soaps and detergents, polymers

Metals and non-metals

Biology

Heredity and genetics basics, ecosystems and energy flow, blood groups, common diseases, nutrition and malnutrition

Diseases and nutrition

Environment and technology

Biogeochemical cycles, pollution, space programme of India, information technology basics

Space programme and IT basics

If your science is rusty, use Class 9 and 10 textbooks first. They cover most of what is asked, and the questions rarely go beyond them.

Paper I: Mathematics Syllabus

Area

Topics to cover

Start with

Number work

Squares, cubes, roots, simplification, quick calculation methods

Squares and cubes up to 30

Commercial maths

Percentage, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, partnership, ratio, time and work

Geometry and mensuration

Lines, angles, triangles, coordinate geometry, area and volume

Triangles and area formulas

Trigonometry and statistics

Basic ratios and identities, mean, median, mode

Mean, median and mode

How to approach maths

Commercial maths scores fastest because the formulas are few and the questions repeat. Learn tables, squares and fractions by heart so that calculation does not eat your time. Do not leave algebra and geometry for the last month, as these need steady practice.

Paper II: General Hindi Syllabus

Area

Topics to cover

Start with

Sentence correction and improvement

Subject-verb agreement

Comprehension and writing

Unseen passage, official and demi-official letters, circulars and notices

Short passages with timed questions

Official letter formats are worth learning because they are specific to this kind of clerical recruitment and feel familiar once practised.

Typing Test: Is There a Syllabus?

There is no topic syllabus for the typing and efficiency test. The test checks speed and accuracy on a computer. Reports describe four parts of 10 minutes each: Hindi speed, Hindi efficiency, English speed and English efficiency, with 25 marks per part. Treat these figures as tentative and read the exact scheme, including the keyboard layout allowed for Hindi and any minimum marks, in the official notification.
