SSC CHSL Cut Off 2026: Previous Year Tier 1 and Final Cut-Off

The SSC CHSL cut-off is the minimum score a candidate needs to move to the next stage or to be selected for a post. The Staff Selection Commission releases it category-wise and post-wise: separate Tier 1 lists for LDC/JSA and DEO, and department-wise cut-offs in the final result. For the 2026 cycle, Tier 1 runs from 30 November to 31 December 2026, so no 2026 cut-off has been released yet.

This page gives the latest official Tier 1 cut-off from CHSL 2025, the three-year trend, how the final cut-off works, and how to turn these numbers into a target score for your preparation.

Cut-offs for ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates are lower and are listed in the official result notice. DEO cut-offs were 21 to 38 marks higher than LDC/JSA, largely because DEO posts have far fewer vacancies.

After rising in 2024, the UR cut-off fell by about 13 marks in 2025. One lower year does not mean the next paper will be easier. The 2026 exam also adds a fixed 15-minute timer for each Tier 1 section, which can move scores in either direction.

SSC CHSL Tier 2 and Final Cut-Off

Tier 2 Section III (Computer Knowledge) and the typing or skill test are qualifying. For CHSL 2025, the Section III cut-off was 13.5 out of 45 for UR, 11.25 for OBC and EWS, and 9 for all other categories, matching the minimum qualifying percentages in the notification.

Final selection is based on Tier 2 Sections I and II, out of 360, and the cut-off differs by department. In the CHSL 2025 final result, declared on 17 August 2026, the last selected UR candidate for LDC/JSA posts scored roughly between 294 and 322, depending on the department. Treat this range as indicative and check the official result write-up for the post you want.

What Affects the SSC CHSL Cut-Off

  • Paper difficulty and normalisation: Tier 1 runs in many shifts, so raw marks are normalised. A tougher set of shifts pulls the cut-off down.

  • Vacancies: More posts usually mean a lower cut-off. The 2026 notification lists 2,536 tentative vacancies.

  • Number of candidates: Higher attendance increases competition for the same number of Tier 2 seats.

  • Post and category: Each post and category has its own list, which is why DEO and LDC/JSA figures differ so widely.

How to Set Your Target Score

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat the figures above as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin rather than a bare pass. A practical target for Tier 1 is 10 to 15 marks above your category's latest cut-off in exam-level mocks, with every section comfortably above the qualifying minimum.

Official cut-off notices are published on the SSC website.
