SSC GD Cut Off 2026: Previous Year Marks and Trends

The SSC GD cut off is the lowest normalised score that still moves a candidate to the next stage. The SSC GD 2026 result and cut-off had not been released as of late September 2026. Until then, previous year marks are the best guide to the score you should aim for.

Types of SSC GD Cut Off

SSC releases cut-offs separately for each state, area (general, border or Naxal/militancy-affected), category and gender.

Cut-Off Type

What It Decides

CBE cut-off

Who is called for PST/PET (about 8 times the vacancies)

Medical/DV cut-off

Who is called for the medical examination and document check

Final cut-off

Who is finally selected, force by force

The minimum qualifying marks (30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS, 20% for others) only make you eligible. The real cut-off is decided by vacancies and competition.

SSC GD CBE Cut Off: All-India SSF Quota (Male)

SSF seats are filled on an all-India basis, so this cut-off is useful for comparing years.

Factors That Affect the SSC GD Cut Off

  • Vacancies: More seats in your state usually lower the cut-off.

  • Paper difficulty: Normalisation balances shifts, but overall difficulty still matters.

  • Number of applicants: Heavy competition pushes cut-offs up.

  • Ex-Agniveer reservation: The new 50% reservation announced in July 2026 may reduce seats open through the CBE in future cycles.

How to Use the Cut Off in Your Preparation

Find your state's last cut-off for your category and aim to score 10 to 15 marks above it in full-length mock tests. If you are from a high-competition state such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan or Haryana, that means consistently scoring close to 150 out of 160.

Testkart's SSC GD mock tests help you track your score against this target. Check the official cut-off on ssc.gov.in once the 2026 result is out.
