TG EAPCET (TS EAMCET) Syllabus 2026: Subject-wise Guide
The TG EAPCET syllabus, still searched as the TS EAMCET syllabus, is set by JNTU Hyderabad and follows the Intermediate (10+2) syllabus of the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education. The Engineering (E) stream tests Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and the Agriculture and Pharmacy (AP) stream tests Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.
For the 2026 cycle, the official syllabus was aligned with the first year syllabus in force from 2024-25 and the second year syllabus from 2025-26, both covered in full. JNTUH notes that the listed topics are not exhaustive and that questions may test understanding beyond the textbook wording. Below you get every unit, grouped so you can see where to start, plus the overlap between the two streams and a phased plan.

Key changes to know
Name: The test is now TG EAPCET. Old TS EAMCET syllabus PDFs carry the same subjects but may reflect an older Intermediate syllabus.
Syllabus base: The 2026 syllabus is tied to the Telangana Intermediate syllabus from 2024-25 (first year) and 2025-26 (second year), at 100% for both years.
No reduced syllabus: Some older pages still mention a reduced syllabus from the pandemic years. The current syllabus covers both years in full.
Both batches: The same syllabus applies to current and previous Intermediate batches who take the test.
Mathematics syllabus (E stream)
Mathematics carries 80 of the 160 marks in the E stream, so it shapes your rank more than any other subject.
Area | Topics to cover | Start with |
|---|---|---|
Algebra | Functions, mathematical induction, matrices and determinants, complex numbers, De Moivre's theorem, quadratic expressions, theory of equations, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, partial fractions | Matrices and determinants |
Trigonometry | Trigonometric ratios up to transformations, trigonometric equations, inverse trigonometric functions, hyperbolic functions, properties of triangles | Compound and multiple angles |
Vector algebra | Addition of vectors, dot and cross product, scalar and vector triple product, vector equations of lines and planes | Dot and cross product |
Probability | Measures of dispersion, probability including conditional probability and Bayes' theorem, random variables, binomial and Poisson distributions | Addition and multiplication theorems |
Coordinate geometry | Locus, transformation of axes, straight lines, pair of straight lines, circles, system of circles, parabola, ellipse, hyperbola, 3D coordinates, direction cosines and ratios, plane | Straight lines and circles |
Calculus | Limits and continuity, differentiation, applications of derivatives, indefinite integration, definite integrals and areas, differential equations | Limits and differentiation |
Calculus and coordinate geometry together cover a large share of the units, and both build on algebra and trigonometry. Finish algebra and trigonometry first, then move to calculus and conics.
Physics syllabus (E and AP)
The Physics syllabus is the same for both streams and has 30 units. Grouping them helps you plan revision.
Group | Units | Start with |
|---|---|---|
Basics and mechanics | Physical world, units and measurements, motion in a straight line, motion in a plane, laws of motion, work energy and power, systems of particles and rotational motion, gravitation | Kinematics and laws of motion |
Properties of matter and heat | Mechanical properties of solids and fluids, thermal properties of matter, thermodynamics, kinetic theory | Thermodynamics |
Oscillations, waves and optics | Oscillations, waves, ray optics and optical instruments, wave optics | Simple harmonic motion and ray optics |
Electricity and magnetism | Electric charges and fields, electrostatic potential and capacitance, current electricity, moving charges and magnetism, magnetism and matter, electromagnetic induction, alternating current, electromagnetic waves | Current electricity |
Modern physics and electronics | Dual nature of radiation and matter, atoms, nuclei, semiconductor electronics, communication systems | Photoelectric effect and semiconductors |
Chemistry syllabus (E and AP)
Chemistry is also common to both streams, with 26 units across physical, inorganic and organic chemistry.
Branch | Units | Start with |
|---|---|---|
Physical chemistry | Atomic structure, states of matter (gases and liquids), stoichiometry, thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium and acids-bases, solid state, solutions, electrochemistry and chemical kinetics, surface chemistry | Atomic structure and stoichiometry |
Inorganic chemistry | Classification of elements and periodicity, chemical bonding, hydrogen and its compounds, s-block elements, group 13 and group 14 elements, p-block elements, d and f block elements and coordination compounds, general principles of metallurgy, environmental chemistry | Periodicity and chemical bonding |
Organic chemistry | Basic principles and techniques, hydrocarbons, haloalkanes and haloarenes, alcohols, phenols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids, nitrogen compounds, polymers, biomolecules, chemistry in everyday life | Basic principles and hydrocarbons |
Physical chemistry needs regular numerical practice, inorganic chemistry rewards short repeated revision, and organic chemistry depends on knowing reaction types well. Spread them across the week instead of finishing one branch at a time.
Botany and Zoology syllabus (AP stream)
Biology carries 80 of the 160 marks in the AP stream, split equally between Botany and Zoology.
Botany (40 questions)
Diversity and structure: Diversity in the living world, morphology of plants, plant systematics, internal organisation of plants.
Cell and reproduction: Cell structure and function, reproduction in plants.
Physiology and ecology: Plant physiology and plant ecology.
Modern biology: Microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, plants and microbes in human welfare.
Zoology (40 questions)
Animal diversity: Diversity of the living world, structural organisation in animals, invertebrate phyla, phylum Chordata, locomotion and reproduction in Protozoa, type study of Periplaneta americana.
Human biology: Human anatomy and physiology in four units, and human reproduction.
Applied areas: Biology and human welfare, ecology and environment, genetics, organic evolution, applied biology.
Overlap between the E and AP streams
Area | E stream | AP stream | How to plan |
|---|---|---|---|
Physics | 40 questions | 40 questions | Same 30 units; prepare once if you apply for both streams |
Chemistry | 40 questions | 40 questions | Same 26 units; prepare once |
Mathematics | 80 questions | Not tested | Only E stream candidates need it |
Biology | Not tested | 80 questions | Only AP stream candidates need it |
If you apply for both streams, Physics and Chemistry preparation counts twice. Your extra effort then goes into Mathematics for E and Botany and Zoology for AP.
Units other-board students should check
If you studied under CBSE or another board, most of the TG EAPCET syllabus will look familiar, but some units are taught differently or are missing from your textbooks. Compare the official syllabus with your books unit by unit, and give extra time to areas like these:
Mathematics: Hyperbolic functions, partial fractions, transformation of axes, pair of straight lines, system of circles and De Moivre's theorem are full units in the Telangana syllabus.
Physics: Communication systems is still listed as a unit, along with older topics such as the Van de Graaff generator and the potentiometer.
Chemistry: Metallurgy, environmental chemistry, hydrogen and its compounds, s-block elements, surface chemistry, polymers and chemistry in everyday life are all on the list.
Zoology: The type study of Periplaneta americana (cockroach) and locomotion and reproduction in Protozoa are separate units.
Use the Telangana Intermediate textbooks for these units, since questions follow their scope and terms. A short set of notes for each unfamiliar unit is usually enough, as long as you test yourself on it.
Question formats to practise
The model questions JNTUH published with the 2026 syllabus include more than direct one-step MCQs. Practise each of these formats:
Assertion and reason: Decide whether both statements are true and whether the reason explains the assertion.
Statement-based: Judge two or three statements and pick the combination that is correct.
Match the following: Pair items from two lists, which tests several facts in one question.
Arrange in order: Sort values or results in ascending or descending order.
How to cover the syllabus
Weeks 1 to 8: Finish the core units from the first and second year textbooks: algebra and calculus or the main Botany and Zoology chapters, mechanics and electricity in Physics, and physical and organic basics in Chemistry.
Weeks 3 to 10: Add topic-wise tests of 20 to 30 questions after each unit, and keep a formula and reaction sheet.
Weeks 8 to 12: Take subject-wise tests under time limits and solve previous TS EAMCET and TG EAPCET papers by year.
Final phase: Take full-length 160-question tests in the CBT format, analyse each one the same day and revise from your error log.
