UP Police SI Cut Off 2026: Category-wise Marks and Trend

The UP Police SI cut off is the lowest normalised written exam score, out of 400, at which the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) called candidates in each category for document verification and the Physical Standard Test. For the 2025 recruitment of 4,543 posts, the board released it with the written result on 7 May 2026.

Separate cut-offs are set for each vertical category (UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST) and for horizontal categories such as women, dependants of freedom fighters and ex-servicemen. Cut-offs change every cycle with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants, so treat the figures below as a benchmark only and aim for a clear margin above them.

What Moves the UP SI Cut-Off

  • Number of posts: Fewer vacancies push the cut-off up.

  • Applicants and attendance: More serious candidates per seat raise the score needed.

  • Paper difficulty: An easier paper, with no negative marking, lifts scores across the board.

  • Normalisation: Scores from different shifts are adjusted, so your raw marks can move up or down slightly.

How to Set Your Target Score

Based on the 2026 figures, a UR candidate should aim for a normalised score of 375 or more, which means about 150 correct answers out of 160. OBC and EWS candidates should target around 370, and SC candidates around 355. Because every question carries 2.5 marks, two or three extra correct answers can decide whether you are called for PST.

Use the subject-wise analysis to find where you lose marks. The structure of the paper is explained in our UP Police SI exam pattern guide. Always verify the final figures in the result notice on the official UPPRPB website.
