UPPCL JE Eligibility: Qualification, Age Limit and Conditions

UPPCL JE eligibility depends mainly on a three-year engineering diploma in the trade you apply for, an age within the notified window and a working knowledge of Hindi. This page lists the conditions reported for earlier cycles so you can check yourself before applications open.

As of 26 October 2026 we could not verify a dedicated Junior Engineer advertisement, so every condition here is indicative. The notification on uppcl.org is the final authority, including the age reference date and the last date for qualifying results.

Electrical and electronics combinations may or may not qualify, so check the exact branch names in the notification.

Civil JE

A three-year diploma in Civil Engineering from the same board or an equivalent recognised diploma is reported. University diplomas and AICTE all-India diplomas in the same discipline are reported as acceptable for both trades.

Degree holders such as B.Tech graduates may be treated differently in different cycles. One secondary page says a degree is usually accepted for the trainee post, while others do not mention it, so read the advertisement before assuming either way.

Age limit and relaxation

The reported age window is 18 to 40 years as on 1 January of the recruitment year. Relaxation depends on the category and the rules of the notification.

Nationality, domicile and other conditions

  • Citizenship: Indian citizen.

  • Character and medical: Standard service conditions apply, as in most state government jobs.

Who may not be eligible

  • Distance-mode diploma holders: Reported as not accepted.

  • Wrong trade: A diploma in a different branch from the post you select.

  • Results pending: If the notice sets a last date for the qualifying result, later results do not count.
