Why Study Notes Matter for ADRE Grade 3
Good ADRE Grade 3 study notes turn a wide syllabus into something you can revise in days, not weeks. The Assam Direct Recruitment exam for Grade III posts asks 150 questions in 3 hours, and Social Studies and General Knowledge alone carry 60 to 65 of them, much of it on Assam. That content is factual and easy to forget, so compact notes and regular revision decide how many of those marks you keep.
This page explains what to put in your notes for each subject, how to organise them and how to revise them alongside mocks. The ADRE 3.0 notification was still awaited in October 2026, so the subject list follows the last officially notified exam.
What to Include, Subject by Subject
Subject | What your notes should hold | Format that works |
|---|---|---|
History of Assam | Dynasties, Ahom rulers and events, Saraighat, Moamoria rebellion, Burmese invasions, Treaty of Yandabo, freedom movement | Timeline with dates and one line per event |
Geography of Assam | Rivers, national parks and sanctuaries, districts, minerals, tea, climate | Tables and a sketch map |
Assam culture and personalities | Festivals, dances, Satra tradition, writers, artists, freedom fighters, awards | Name, known for, key work or year |
India GK and polity | Constitution basics, key articles, national history highlights, general science facts | Short bullet lists |
Current affairs | Assam schemes, appointments, sports, awards and national events of the last 12 months | One page per month |
General Mathematics | Formulas, shortcuts and solved examples for arithmetic topics | Formula sheet |
Reasoning | Patterns for series, coding, blood relations, syllogism rules | Worked examples |
English | Grammar rules, common errors, idioms, one-word substitutions | Rule plus example sentence |
How to Organise Your Notes
Short notes, not copies: write one page per chapter in your own words. If it takes longer than five minutes to revise, cut it down.
Formula sheet: keep all maths formulas and shortcuts on two or three pages for quick review before every test.
Error log: after each mock, add every wrong or guessed question with the correct fact or method.
Monthly current affairs: close each month with a one-page summary of Assam and national news.
Level-specific pages: graduate candidates should keep a page of comprehension strategies and vocabulary.
Revision Schedule
Daily (20 minutes): revise the notes you made the previous day.
Weekly (2 hours): revise all Assam GK and Social Studies notes from the week plus the error log.
Monthly (half a day): full pass through every subject and the month's current affairs page.
Final month: notes and error log only, alongside two or three full mocks a week.
Reliable Sources for Notes

Official notices: exam format and updates come only from the Government of Assam portal and the SEBA website.
Previous papers: the 2024 HSSLC, graduate and HSLC papers show which facts are asked and how.
