AFMC Nursing Eligibility 2026: Age, Marks, NEET
AFMC Nursing eligibility is stricter than most B.Sc Nursing admissions, because the course leads to a commission in the Military Nursing Service. You need to meet rules on gender, marital status, age, Class 12 subjects and marks, NEET UG and physical standards, and every one of them is checked again during screening for the AFMS Colleges of Nursing.
This page sets out the 2026 rules as reported from the notification, the dates that decide your age eligibility and the most common reasons candidates are turned away. Confirm each point against the notification on the official portal before you apply.

Marital status: You must be unmarried, divorced, legally separated or a widow without encumbrances. Keep the relevant legal documents ready if you are divorced, separated or widowed.
Age limit
For the 2026 cycle, you must have been born between 1 October 2001 and 30 September 2009, both dates inclusive. In practice this means you are roughly 17 to 25 years old at the start of the course. The date of birth in your application must match your Class 10 certificate.
No category-wise age relaxation was reported for this window. If the notification for your year lists a relaxation, it will be stated there.
Educational qualification
Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English in 10+2 or an equivalent exam.
Marks: At least 50% aggregate in the prescribed subjects. Check the notification for how the aggregate is worked out and whether rounding is allowed.
First attempt: You must have passed 10+2 in the first attempt. Candidates who cleared through a later attempt or improvement exam should read the clause carefully.
Board: The board, university or examining body must be recognised.
NEET UG requirement
Qualifying NEET UG of the same year is compulsory. Qualifying means reaching the NTA qualifying percentile for your category, shown below. It does not by itself get you a call for screening, because shortlisting is done on NEET UG scores and the shortlisting score is not published.
Category | NEET UG qualifying percentile |
|---|---|
UR and EWS | 50th percentile |
OBC, SC and ST | 40th percentile |
UR and EWS (PwBD) | 45th percentile |
OBC, SC and ST (PwBD) | 40th percentile |
