Bihar Police Constable Syllabus 2026: Subject-Wise Topics

The Bihar Police Constable written exam is set at Matric level, and the official syllabus follows the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) textbooks for Classes 9 and 10. The Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC) published the syllabus along with Advt. No. 01/2025, and this page turns it into a clear subject-wise topic list in English.

The official syllabus PDF is typed in a legacy Hindi font that most phones and computers cannot display, so candidates often see broken characters. The tables below follow that PDF topic by topic. CSBC also states that this syllabus is for the Constable post under Advt. No. 01/2025, so check the syllabus attached to any new advertisement before you plan.

What to Know Before You Start

  • No section-wise split is published: CSBC lists the subjects but does not say how many of the 100 questions come from each one. Prepare all six evenly at first and adjust after a few mock tests.

  • There is no separate reasoning section: Reasoning is not in the official subject list. Some preparation sites add it, but the CSBC document does not.

  • General knowledge has no topic list: The official line only says that objective questions on general knowledge and current affairs will be asked.

  • Other posts have their own syllabus: Driver Constable, Prohibition and Jail Warder, Special Branch and Operator recruitments publish separate syllabi. This page covers the general Constable post.

The written exam only qualifies you for the Physical Efficiency Test, so a safe score matters more than a perfect one.

Hindi Syllabus

Hindi is listed for both Class 9 and Class 10, in mother tongue and second language forms. The official list names the school chapters by theme, so the practical way to prepare is through grammar plus a light revision of the textbook prose and poetry.
