DSSSB Syllabus 2026 for PRT, TGT and PGT

The DSSSB syllabus for teaching posts has two parts. Section A is a common general paper for PRT, TGT and PGT, and Section B (Section II for PGT) tests the subject of your post along with teaching methodology. Every teaching post in the latest advertisements (05/2025, 06/2025, 10/2024 and 03/2026) is examined in a single objective paper, so this one syllabus covers the whole written stage.

DSSSB names the sections and their marks in each advertisement but does not publish a detailed topic-wise list for every post. The topic lists below are built from the official advertisements and from questions asked in previous DSSSB papers. Use them as a working checklist, not as an official list, and check any subject-wise syllabus DSSSB releases for your post code.

Key changes to know

  • PGT is now one tier: Advertisement 10/2024 examined PGT in a single 300-mark paper. Older pages may still show a two-tier PGT exam with a descriptive English essay and letter, based on the 2013 scheme, so follow the advertisement.

  • Qualifying marks sit in the subject section: The minimum percentage applies to Section B (or Section II), not to Section A, so your subject preparation carries the risk of elimination.

  • PRT Section B follows the NCTE curriculum: Advertisement 05/2025 describes Section B as based on the NCTE curriculum, including teaching methodology. Pedagogy is not a side topic for PRT.

  • PGT general section names differ slightly: The PGT advertisement lists Mental Ability and Reasoning and Numerical Aptitude and Data Interpretation, so expect some data interpretation in PGT Section I.
