LIC HFL Cut Off 2026: What Is Official and How to Set Your Target
LIC HFL has not published an official cut-off for the Junior Assistant recruitment of 2026, and none exists yet for the Apprentice Programme-010. There are no category-wise or sectional cut-off marks in the advertisement or in the lists released afterwards. This page explains what LIC HFL has actually published, why cut-off figures on other pages should be treated with caution, and how to set a benchmark of your own.
What LIC HFL Has Published
Item | Status |
|---|---|
Category-wise cut-off marks, Junior Assistant 2026 | Not published |
Sectional and total cut-offs | The advertisement says they may apply at the company's discretion, but no marks are stated |
Minimum interview qualifying mark | Mentioned in the advertisement, number not stated |
Final list of selected candidates | Released on 29 July 2026 with names and roll numbers only |
Cut-off for the Apprentice Programme-010 | Not published; the test is scheduled for 7 November 2026 |
The final list for the Junior Assistant post contains 167 names, by our count, against 180 advertised vacancies. It states that roll numbers are in ascending order and should not be read as order of merit, and it contains no marks. You can see it on the official portal: https://online.lichousing.com/pdf/Final_Merit%20List_For_the_post_of_JA2026.pdf
Why Other Pages Show Cut-Off Numbers
Search results for this topic often show tables of marks. Check what those numbers belong to before you rely on them.
Another exam: Some pages place prelims and mains cut-offs of LIC Assistant under an LIC HFL heading. LIC HFL is a different company with a different pattern, so those numbers do not apply.
Expected figures: Estimates made by coaching sites are guesses, not official marks, however confident they sound.
Old years: A table from several years ago says little about a 200-mark test held in 2026.
What Affects the Cut-Off
Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. For LIC HFL specifically, these factors matter.
Difficulty and equating: If the test runs in more than one session, scores are equated, so a harder session is adjusted.
Vacancies by city: Posts were allotted city by city, so competition differs by location.
Sectional rules: A sectional cut-off, if applied, can remove a candidate who is strong overall but weak in one section.
Interview weight: Final selection combines test and interview marks, and the split is not published.
How to Set Your Target Score
Since there is no official figure, build a target from your own practice. Cut-offs change every year, so treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.
Take full-length mocks in the real pattern: Use 200 questions in 120 minutes for the Junior Assistant pattern, with 0.25 negative marking.
Track the average of your last five mocks: A single high score is not a benchmark.
Set a minimum for every section: Do not let any section fall far behind, because a sectional cut-off is possible.
Review wrong answers: Accuracy gains are the cheapest marks.
Example profile | Attempted | Correct | Score (out of 200) |
|---|---|---|---|
High accuracy | 150 | 135 | 131.25 |
Balanced | 140 | 119 | 113.75 |
High attempts | 160 | 128 | 120.00 |
