Notification Overview

The High Court released the Assistant Grade-III advertisement on 14 August 2026. Unlike the 2021 cycle, which advertised Assistant Grade-3 and Assistant Grade-3 (English Knowing) together with stenographer posts, the 2026 advertisement covers a single post: Assistant Grade-III for the District Court establishments.

Three points stand out in this cycle:

  • Larger intake: 1,174 posts, compared with 910 Assistant Grade-3 and 21 Assistant Grade-3 (English Knowing) posts in the 2021 cycle.

  • Simpler skill stage: after the online preliminary exam, shortlisted candidates take a 50-mark Hindi typing test of 10 minutes.

  • Extended deadline: the original last date of 15 September 2026 was extended to 30 September 2026 through a notice dated 15 September 2026, and the correction window moved to 6 to 8 October 2026.

Older pages may still show a 30-question GK section or a typing-plus-dictation main exam. Follow the 2026 advertisement, which uses five sections of 20 questions each.

Stage 2: Hindi Typing Skill Test

The skill test carries 50 marks and lasts 10 minutes. Candidates type a passage of about 350 words on the Remington Gail Hindi layout. As reported from the advertisement, 0.50 mark is deducted for each error or omitted word and 0.10 mark for each use of Backspace.

What this means for you:

  • Equal weight: each section is worth 20 marks, so no section can be ignored.

  • Time is generous: 120 minutes for 100 questions leaves room to read Hindi and English questions carefully.

  • Typing decides a lot: start Hindi typing practice now, not after the preliminary result.

For the stage-wise breakdown and deduction examples, read the MP High Court Assistant Grade 3 exam pattern guide.

How to Prepare for MP High Court Assistant Grade 3

Preliminary Exam Preparation

  • MP GK first: MP history, geography, rivers, tribes, districts and state schemes appear regularly. Keep a one-page note for each theme.

  • Daily arithmetic: 20 questions a day on percentage, ratio, average and time and work builds speed.

  • Hindi and English together: spend 30 minutes a day on grammar rules in both languages, since each section carries 20 marks.

  • Computer basics: learn shortcut keys, MS Office functions and common abbreviations. These are quick marks.

Typing Preparation

  • Learn the right layout: practise only on Remington Gail so your finger memory matches the test.

  • Accuracy before speed: every error costs 0.50 mark, so aim for clean passages first.

  • Reduce Backspace use: each press costs 0.10 mark, which adds up quickly.

Cut-Off and Qualifying Marks

The High Court has not published a category-wise cut-off table for the preliminary exam that we could verify. For 2026, the advertisement sets minimum qualifying marks for the typing test.
