MP High Court Assistant Grade 3 Eligibility 2026: Qualification, Age and Domicile

MP High Court Assistant Grade 3 eligibility rests on four checks: a graduation degree, a recognised computer qualification, an age between 18 and 40 years (up to 45 for eligible categories) and the domicile rules that decide whether you can claim reservation. The High Court of Madhya Pradesh set these conditions in Advertisement No. 614/Pariksha/2026 for 1,174 Assistant Grade-III posts in District Court establishments.

Applications for the 2026 cycle closed on 30 September 2026, but eligibility is checked again at document verification. This page sets out each condition, the computer qualifications that are accepted and the ones that are not, the age relaxation rules, worked examples and the most common reasons candidates are found ineligible. Age is counted as on 1 January 2026, and all qualifications had to be held by the last date of the online application.

Educational Qualification

You need a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a university recognised in India. Arts, commerce, science, engineering, law and other streams all qualify, and there is no minimum percentage stated for the degree.

  • Result deadline: the degree must have been completed by the last date of the online application. A final-year student whose result came after that date does not meet the condition.

  • Recognition: the university must be recognised. Degrees from unrecognised institutions are rejected at document verification.

  • Proof: keep all year-wise marksheets and the degree or provisional certificate ready.

Computer Qualification: CPCT or Diploma

Along with graduation, you need any one of the computer qualifications below. CPCT is one option, not a compulsory requirement.

Option

What is accepted

CPCT

CPCT score card issued by MAP_IT or another agency recognised by the Madhya Pradesh Government

One-year diploma

One-year diploma in computer applications from an institution recognised by the Madhya Pradesh Government, such as a UGC-recognised university

Qualification

What to show at verification

CPCT

The CPCT score card issued on or before the last date of application

One-year diploma

Diploma certificate and marksheet showing the one-year duration and the recognised institution

O Level or ITI COPA

The certificate and marksheet from NIELIT or the Government ITI

Computer degree

Degree and all marksheets showing Computer Science or IT as the main subject

If your certificate does not state the course duration, carry a letter or marksheet from the institution that does.

Degrees With Computer as One Subject

A B.Sc or B.Com in which computer is only one of several subjects is reported to be not valid on its own. Following a Madhya Pradesh General Administration Department letter dated 29 May 2019, such a degree is accepted only if the marksheet clearly shows Computer Science or IT as a full subject. If your degree falls in this grey area, keep your marksheets ready and read the exact wording in the official advertisement.

Which Option Suits You

  • Already hold a computer degree: you meet the condition without a separate diploma or CPCT.

  • Hold CPCT: keep the score card ready for document verification.

  • Planning for the next cycle: a one-year diploma or CPCT obtained before the next advertisement's last date keeps your options open, since recruiters in Madhya Pradesh commonly ask for one of them.

Age is counted as on 1 January 2026. The minimum age for every category is 18 years.

Special Relaxations

  • Ex-servicemen (MP domicile): the period of military service is deducted from actual age. The resulting age should not exceed the upper limit by more than three years.

  • Contractual court employees: candidates working on contract in the MP High Court or District Courts for at least five years, on the same or a higher post, get relaxation equal to the contract period, subject to a maximum resulting age of 55 years.

These figures are as reported from the 2026 advertisement. Age relaxations do not combine beyond the limits stated in the advertisement, so check your exact case in the official PDF.

Domicile and Reservation Rules

The post is open to candidates from every state, but benefits depend on Madhya Pradesh domicile.

  • MP domicile: eligible OBC, SC, ST and EWS candidates get reservation, the fee concession and category age relaxation.

  • Other states: candidates are treated as unreserved, whatever their category in their home state, and the 40-year limit applies to men.

  • Women from other states: the 45-year upper limit for women is reported to apply to all women, including those from other states.

  • Candidates with disabilities from other states: they apply under the unreserved disability category.

Horizontal reservation applies within each category: 35% for women, 10% for ex-servicemen and 6% for persons with disabilities. Because of a pending case on OBC reservation, a share of OBC posts is kept provisional and OBC results are expected in two parts.

Documents for MP Domicile and Category Claims

  • Domicile certificate: issued by the competent Madhya Pradesh authority, needed for any reservation, fee concession or category age relaxation.

  • Caste certificate: a valid OBC, SC or ST certificate issued by the competent Madhya Pradesh authority.

  • EWS certificate: a valid EWS certificate issued in Madhya Pradesh in the required format.

  • Disability certificate: issued by the competent medical authority, showing the type and percentage of disability.

  • Ex-serviceman proof: discharge certificate showing the period of service, needed for the age deduction.

The validity dates and formats for each certificate are set in the advertisement, so check them there before verification.

Other Conditions

  • No objection certificate: candidates already working in a government department, public sector undertaking, central service or autonomous body need an NOC from their employer.

  • Marriage rule: a candidate with more than one living spouse is generally not eligible under Madhya Pradesh civil service rules.

  • Children rule: a candidate with more than two living children, where one was born on or after 26 January 2001, is generally not eligible.

  • Admit card is not proof of eligibility: the High Court can reject a candidature at any stage if a condition is not met.

Who Is Not Eligible

Most rejections in clerical recruitments come from a handful of avoidable mistakes:

  • Late qualification: a degree, diploma or CPCT score card obtained after the last date of application.

  • Wrong computer course: a short computer course of less than one year, or a degree with computer as one minor subject.

  • Category without domicile: claiming OBC, SC, ST or EWS benefits without a valid MP domicile and category certificate.

  • Age above the limit: applying under a relaxation that does not apply to your category or state.

  • Missing NOC: serving employees who cannot produce an employer's NOC.

Self-Check in Five Questions

  1. Did I complete graduation by the last date of application? If not, you are not eligible this cycle.

  2. Is my computer qualification on the accepted list and at least one year long, or is it CPCT or a computer degree? If not, the candidature can be rejected.

  3. Was I 18 or older, and within my category limit, on 1 January 2026? Use the age table above for your category and state.

  4. Do I hold an MP domicile certificate if I claimed a reserved category? Without it, you are treated as unreserved.

  5. Do I meet the marriage, children and NOC conditions? These are checked at document verification.

Eligibility Checklist Before Document Verification

  1. Match your degree date: confirm the date on your final marksheet or provisional certificate falls on or before the last date of application.

  2. Match your computer qualification: compare the exact name and duration of your course with the accepted list in the advertisement.

  3. Check your age category: work out your age on 1 January 2026 and the limit for your category and state.

  4. Verify certificates: make sure your MP domicile and category certificates are valid and in the format the advertisement asks for.

  5. Arrange the NOC early: if you are employed, request the NOC well before the verification date.

  6. Keep copies: carry originals and self-attested copies of every document you declared in the online form.
