MP Police ASI Eligibility 2026: Age and Education
MP Police ASI eligibility for the ASI (Ministerial) post depends on four things: your educational qualification, a valid CPCT score with Hindi typing, your age on the cut-off date, and the physical and medical standards. The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) recruits for the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department.
The rules below follow the current notification as reported by several sources. Always verify them against the notification on the official MPESB website, because certificates are checked strictly at later stages even though MPESB does not verify them at the application stage.

Educational qualification
You must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) from a recognised board or institution. There is no stream restriction in the summaries we checked, so arts, commerce and science students can apply.
CPCT with Hindi typing
The ASI post needs a valid Computer Proficiency Certification Test (CPCT) score card from the Department of Science and Technology, with Hindi typing. Check the validity period on your score card, because an expired card can make you ineligible at document verification.
Computer qualification
Along with CPCT, the notification lists computer qualifications that satisfy the requirement. Summaries mention the following for ASI (Ministerial); confirm the exact list in the notification.
Diploma or degree: An AICTE-approved engineering diploma, engineering degree, BCA, MCA, or M.Sc. in computer science or IT.
Certificate or diploma: A DOEACC diploma, a one-year COPA certificate from a government-recognised ITI, a Modern Office Management course, or a computer diploma from a UGC-recognised university.
The broader degree and diploma list is reported to apply to the General Branch post, while others list the narrower certificate options. Check the notification for the post you plan to select.

Ex-servicemen can deduct their defence service from their actual age, and retrenched government staff can deduct up to seven years of earlier temporary service. In both cases, the age after deduction must not exceed the upper limit by more than three years. Only the most beneficial incentive relaxation applies. All relaxations need a Madhya Pradesh domicile certificate. These details come from one detailed summary, so check the notification for your case.

Madhya Pradesh domicile: Reservation and age relaxation apply only to candidates with an MP domicile certificate.
Other states: Candidates from other states can apply only against unreserved seats, with no reservation benefit or age relaxation.
