MP Police Constable Cut Off: Previous Year Trends
The MP Police Constable cut off works at two points. After the written test, the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) fixes a cut-off percentile in each category and calls about seven times the vacancies to the physical stage. After the PET, the final cut-off is the last merit score selected in each category, based on written and PET marks together.
The figures below come from the 2025 cycle of 7,500 posts. Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.
MP Police Constable final cut-off 2025
Category | Constable 87% posts (2025, as reported) | Constable 13% posts (2025, as reported) |
|---|---|---|
General / UR | 98.35 | 95.68 |
OBC | 96.17 | 93.89 |
EWS | 92.24 | Not reported |
SC | 89.12 | Not reported |
ST | 80.26 | Not reported |
These values are as reported from the final result declared in April 2026. They appear to be percentile-based scores rather than raw marks, and no separate SAF or gender-wise figures were reported. Confirm them in the official result notice on the MPESB website before relying on them.
Written test stage in the 2025 cycle
Item | 2025 cycle (as reported) |
|---|---|
Applications received | 9,78,059 |
Candidates appeared | 6,85,504 |
Qualified for the physical stage | 59,438 |
Written test held | 30 October to 15 December 2025 |
Phase 1 result | 25 January 2026 |
Fewer than one in ten candidates who appeared reached the physical stage. That is why a safe written score matters even though the PET also counts in merit.
What affects the MP Police Constable cut-off
Vacancies in your category: Shortlisting is about seven times the posts in each vertical category, so more posts lower the bar.
Number of candidates: Close to ten lakh applications in 2025 kept percentiles high.
Paper difficulty across shifts: The test runs in many shifts, and results are reported as percentiles to compare candidates fairly.
PET performance: Final merit adds PET marks, so strong physical scores can lift a candidate above others with higher written marks.
Bonus marks: Eligible candidates such as NCC C certificate holders and Home Guards get bonus marks under the rulebook.
How to set your target
Written test: Aim for a score that would sit clearly above the last category percentile, not just near it, and attempt all 100 questions in every full-length mock.
PET: Score well above the 30% minimum. Each extra mark in the PET counts as much as a written mark in merit.
Track trends, not one number: Compare your mock percentile over several weeks instead of reacting to one test.
