You need a Senior Secondary certificate, a GNM course or equivalent, registration with the Rajasthan Nursing Council, and an age between 21 and 40 years as on 1 January 2026, before relaxations.
This page covers qualification, age relaxation, nationality, disqualifications and the application fee, all taken from RSSB advertisement No. 01/2025. Rules for a future cycle may differ, so always compare this page with the latest notification before you apply.

Educational Qualification
The Board lists three conditions for Contractual Nurse (NHM):
Senior Secondary: A Senior Secondary certificate (class 12) or its equivalent.
GNM: A General Nursing and Midwifery course, or an equivalent qualification, from an institute recognised by the government.
Registration: A valid registration with the Rajasthan Nursing Council (RNC).
The notification names the GNM course and does not list B.Sc. Nursing as a separate route for this post. If you hold a different nursing qualification, check the official PDF or ask the Board before you apply. The notification does not give a percentage or CGPA rule for this post, and it does not give a result deadline in the pages we reviewed. Read the latest notification for any such date.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The age is counted as on 1 January 2026 for the 2025 cycle, because the Board counts age from the first January that follows the last date to apply. You must have completed 21 years and not yet turned 40 on that date.
Category | Upper age relaxation |
|---|---|
General category women | 5 years |
Male candidates of SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS who are permanent residents of Rajasthan | 5 years |
Women of SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS who are permanent residents of Rajasthan | 10 years |
Ex-servicemen | As per the Rajasthan Civil Services rules for ex-servicemen |
Persons with disabilities | 5 years, in addition to category relaxation as per Rajasthan rules |
Widows and divorced women | No upper age limit, but the age must be below the government retirement age |
The age relaxation clauses are not cumulative. The Board applies only one of the first three clauses to a candidate, and it does not add them together. Read the full clause in the advertisement before you work out your own age limit.
Nationality and Other Conditions
Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 to settle, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries to settle in India. Candidates in the last four groups need an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.
Marriage registration: Rajasthan government rules require marriage registration for people in government service, so keep the certificate ready.
No more than two children: A candidate with more than two children born on or after 1 June 2002 is not eligible for appointment, subject to the exceptions in the notification.
Spouse rules: A man with more than one living wife, or a woman married to such a man, is not eligible unless the government grants an exemption. Accepting dowry at marriage also makes a married candidate ineligible.

Candidates outside the 21 to 40 age window after applying the relaxation that applies to them.
Candidates declared unfit for government service, or removed from service on disciplinary grounds.
