NHM Rajasthan Nursing Officer Syllabus 2025: Topic-wise Guide
The NHM Rajasthan Nursing Officer syllabus comes from the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) advertisement No. 01/2025 for the post of Contractual Nurse (NHM). The paper has five sections and carries 450 marks, and the professional nursing section alone is worth 270 of them.
This page lists every topic the Board has named, shows how marks are spread, and gives a week-wise plan to cover them. The Board prints a topic list in the advertisement, so nothing here is guesswork. The professional section is described only as "topics up to GNM course level", and the groups below follow the Board's own bullets.

Each question carries 3 marks, so every 45-mark section works out to about 15 questions and the professional section to about 90. The Board does not print these question counts, so treat them as a working estimate from the marks. The exam pattern page explains the marking scheme.
Key Points to Know
One paper, one syllabus: Contractual Nurse (NHM) and Contractual Nurse Grade-II (RajMES) share the same exam and syllabus, so you prepare once for both.
Professional weightage: Three out of every five marks come from nursing subjects, so a strong GNM base decides your rank.
Short sections still count: The four 45-mark sections add up to 180 marks. A gap of 20 to 30 marks there is hard to recover in the professional section.
Single stage: There is no separate descriptive paper or interview in the 2025 process, so the whole syllabus is tested in one sitting.
General Knowledge, General Science and Current Affairs (45 Marks)
Topic | What to cover |
|---|---|
History of India | Ancient, medieval and modern history in outline |
Indian National Movement | Key events, with important events in Rajasthan |
Geography of India and Rajasthan | Physical, social and economic geography |
State and governance | Constitution, political system and the Panchayati Raj system of India and Rajasthan |
Environment and society | Biodiversity, climate change, economic and social development, social problems |
Current events | India, Rajasthan and the world |
General science | Class 10 standard |
Rajasthan topics appear in four of the seven heads, so give them steady attention. Current events are the most perishable part, so revise the last 12 months before the exam rather than the full year of study.

Components of service delivery under RMNCH+A, including Government of India programmes

The notification prints one bullet as "new logical disorders". We read it as neurological disorders, so check the official PDF if you want the exact wording. The Board gives no weightage for these nine areas. Medical-surgical nursing, community health and midwifery have the longest topic lists, so spend your first revision weeks there and keep the shorter areas for steady revision.
How to Cover the Syllabus
Weeks 1 to 3: Anatomy, physiology and nursing foundations. Draw diagrams and write short notes for each body system.
Weeks 4 to 6: Community health, child health and nutrition, along with the NHM and RMNCH+A section so the programmes stay linked to the clinical topics.
Weeks 7 to 9: Medical-surgical nursing, midwifery, infection control and emergencies. Add 20 minutes a day of current affairs from week 4 onward.
Weeks 10 and 11: English, Hindi and computers in short daily sets, plus a light read of education and administration topics.
Week 12 onward: Full-length tests, same-day analysis and error-log revision.
The official topic list is in the RSSB advertisement PDF.
