UP Police Study Notes: What to Include and How to Revise
Subject-wise UP Police notes for GK, Hindi, maths, reasoning and SI law, built for quick revision.
UP Police study notes are a short, revisable record of the syllabus for the Constable and SI written exams conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB). Both papers test the same four subjects: General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical and Mental Ability, and Mental Aptitude, IQ and Reasoning. The SI paper adds the Constitution and basic law to the knowledge section.
Good notes do not copy a textbook. They hold the facts, rules and methods you are likely to forget, in a form you can revise in minutes. This page covers what to put in your notes for each subject, how to organise them and how to revise them before the exam.
What to Include in UP Police Notes
Subject | What your notes should hold |
|---|---|
General Knowledge | Key events in history, rivers and soils, polity articles, major schemes and Class 10 level science facts |
UP GK | Districts, rivers, fairs, folk arts, famous personalities and state schemes of Uttar Pradesh |
General Hindi | Sandhi and samas rules with examples, vilom and paryayvachi lists, muhavare, lokoktiyan and common spelling errors |
Numerical and Mental Ability | Formulas, short methods for percentage, ratio, interest and time and work, and one solved example of each question type |
Reasoning and aptitude | Patterns for series, coding and blood relations, plus sample police-aptitude situations with the reasoning behind each answer |
Law (SI only) | Key Constitution articles and the main provisions of BNS, BNSS and BSA, with the old IPC, CrPC and Evidence Act equivalents |
How to Organise Your Notes
One page per topic: Keep each topic to a page or two so you can revise a whole subject in one sitting.
Formula and rule sheets: Put all maths formulas and Hindi grammar rules on separate sheets for daily quick revision.
Monthly current affairs file: Summarise each month in two to three pages, with a separate section for Uttar Pradesh news and schemes.
Error log: Record every question you get wrong in tests, the correct answer and why you missed it. This becomes your most useful file in the final weeks.
Revision Schedule for UP Police Notes
Daily: Spend about 20 minutes on formula sheets, Hindi rules and the current week's news.
Weekly: Revise every topic studied that week and add new mistakes from your tests.
Monthly: Go through all subject notes once and shorten them where you can.
Final three weeks: Revise only from your notes and error log, and stop starting new topics.
Sources to Build Your Notes From
Start with the subject list in the latest notification on the official UPPRPB website, then use NCERT Class 6 to 10 books for static GK and science. Previous year papers show which facts and question types repeat, so mark those topics in your notes. For SI law topics, read the provisions of the new criminal laws directly rather than relying only on summaries.
