Homi Bhabha Exam Class 6 Mock Test 2026-27: Practice Guide
Timed practice for the 28 November 2026 written test: test types, an eight-week plan and score benchmarks.
A Homi Bhabha exam Class 6 mock test is the closest you can get to the real written paper before 28 November 2026. The Level I test has 100 MCQs in 90 minutes, with about 60% of questions from Std 6 science, 20% from Std 5, 10% from Std 4 and 10% from general knowledge in science. That leaves a little under a minute per question, and only timed practice builds that speed.
Types of Tests to Use
Test type | What it covers | When to take it |
|---|---|---|
Chapter-wise tests | One Std 4, 5 or 6 science chapter at a time | Right after revising each chapter |
Standard-wise tests | All of Std 6, or Std 4 and 5 together | Once a full standard is revised |
General science sets | Scientists, inventions, space and daily-life science | Twice a week |
Full-length mock tests | 100 MCQs in 90 minutes from all sources | Final four to five weeks |
Previous year papers | Actual GBSTA questions and difficulty | Alongside full-length mocks |
How to Use Mock Tests Before 28 November
Weeks 1 to 3: Take a chapter-wise test daily, starting with Std 6 since it carries most of the paper.
Weeks 4 and 5: Move to standard-wise tests and add one full-length mock a week.
Weeks 6 to 8: Take two to three full-length mocks a week, ideally in the 2.00 pm slot so your focus matches exam time.
Last three days: Stop new mocks and revise your error log instead.
How to Analyse Each Mock
Sort wrong answers by source: Note whether each mistake came from Std 4, 5, 6 or general science, and revise that chapter the same day.
Spot slow questions: Any question that took more than a minute and a half needs a faster method or a clearer concept.
Review skipped questions: If you could have solved a skipped question on a second look, your first pass is too cautious.
Keep an error log: One line per mistake, with the correct idea, gives you a short revision sheet for the final week.
Score Benchmarks to Track
In 2025-26, the Std 6 written test cut-off ranged from 41 to 65 out of 100, depending on region, medium and board. Aim to score at least 62 in your mocks if you are in English medium on the SSC Board, and 70 or more if you study under another board. Also aim to attempt all 100 questions, since GBSTA's official information does not mention negative marking.
Mock tests prepare you for Phase I only. For the practical round in January, use GBSTA's official sample practicals and hands-on practice at home or school.
