Homi Bhabha Exam Class 6 Notes 2026-27: Make and Revise
What to put in your notes for each part of the syllabus and how to revise them before the 28 November 2026 written test.
Good Homi Bhabha Class 6 notes help a student revise three years of science quickly before the written test on 28 November 2026. The Dr. Homi Bhabha Balvaidnyanik Competition, conducted by GBSTA, asks 100 MCQs in 90 minutes, and GBSTA gives more weight to understanding and application than to plain recall. Notes that record only facts are not enough.
What to Include in Your Notes
Part of the syllabus | Share of paper | What to note |
|---|---|---|
Std 6 science | About 60% | Each concept with the reason behind it, labelled diagrams, examples from daily life |
Std 5 science | About 20% | One-page summary per chapter with key terms and examples |
Std 4 science | About 10% | Short summaries of core ideas such as living things, food, water and the environment |
General knowledge in science | About 10% | Scientists and their work, inventions, space missions, science in daily life |
Students in Std 6 this year should also note one change. Maharashtra introduced a new Std 6 textbook in 2026-27, and GBSTA has not said which edition the paper follows. Organise your Std 6 notes by topic, such as motion and force or nutrition, so that they work with either book.
How to Organise Homi Bhabha Class 6 Notes
Concept sheets: One page per topic, written as short points with a "why" or "what happens if" line for each idea.
Diagram sheet: Labelled diagrams of plant parts, the skeleton, the solar system and simple machines in one place. These also help in the practical round.
Science GK list: A running list of scientists, discoveries and current science news, updated once a week.
Error log: One line for every mistake from a mock test, with the correct idea. This becomes your final-week revision sheet.
Revision Plan Before 28 November
Now to early November: Finish Std 6 concept sheets first, then Std 5 and Std 4 summaries. Add to the GK list weekly.
Final three weeks: Revise one set of notes daily and add every mock-test mistake to your error log.
Last three days: Read only the error log, the diagram sheet and the GK list. Avoid starting new material.
Sources to Build Notes From
Use the Maharashtra State Board science textbooks for Std 4, 5 and 6 as your main base, along with GBSTA's authentic book that comes with the registration fee. CBSE, ICSE and IB students should add topics their own books do not cover. For the practical round on 10 January 2027, make separate notes from the sample practicals on GBSTA's practical examination information page.
